I had a large intrest and collected them for a large time 3 years ago till I accidentally caused my castle to fall down (Don't ask, it was my own stupidit on it heh ooops) so I lost all the rares there. Just recently my interest has resparked in it.

I wouldn't avoid it since almost every Rare in UO has been duped now, but th amount I'm willing to pay definitely goes down when I know there are a lot more out there than there should be. If you need an answer the survey, it's No.

It depends on the price. If it was ultra cheap, I'd buy it, but if I had the choice of Duper or Non-Duper, I'd choose Non-Duper. So the answer for the survey is No.

Good sales, or doing well on my vendor sales so that I have more money available.

Not really for sure. I would want RBG Sash. Would be neat. Next would be combat boots (Sonoma Issue). Then I really dont know.

Not really big in it right now, but for me would be to preserve shard Items/History. Next would be for public viewing. Too many rares get locked up in private homes never to be seen by people.

Thusly, unless I can verify that the exact, specific item I am interested in purchasing is a duped item (or at least if the specific item comes with a very healthy dose of doubt about whether or not it belies a dubious nature), then I will buy whatever it is.[/list]

2. A set of the two two-story talking statuettes, a la Covetous dungeon.
3. A E/W standard open book with the name "A Treatise On Alchemy". I only ever see these in the smaller, square-book version.

5. What motivates you to collect/invest in rares?
<ul>[*]Personally, I only collect rares, I don't invest. If I buy a good rare item, I plan on owning that rare item until the servers are shut down. Now as to the why: I like decorating my house with awesome stuff for people to look at. I also occasionally get stuff to showcase server/game history.[/list]

<font color="blue">Great Lakes, Luna, just north of the east road nearest the moongate in the inner ring. I'm pretty sure an 18x18 fits there. I could have had it, too, and I am STILL kicking myself for it. I was one of the lucky few who pre-ordered AoS directly from Origin when it was released and got it a day before the other stores got it. I wasn't a beta tester, so all I knew about Malas was what I had seen from the map screenshots on the UO site. Depends, for my personal collection: yes. But that doesn't take away I might purchase it if the seller or item is somewhat dubious, for trading purposes or temporary deco.

Hard one, I've always liked the 2 story statue, until they were mass duped/bugged.

And Galfor's staff. Hemi still owns it afaik.
Master of the Word sash. Great quests, and usually the owners weren't the l33t types.

It allows you to be different in the game. Everyone can get some arties and kill some dragons and get some gold. There is only 1-10 people with certain items.

I started off small. Reselling small items, gradually moving on to nicer items. But the day I found rares, was the day I found out I am better at trading than at killing dragons or trying to be cool in PvP.
I'm at the point where I've owned 90%+ of all different rares at one point or another, so you get a bit more picky. My interest is the same, just a lot more specialised.
