Any skill that was below GM before taming can be trained to GM

Skills that are above GM are a little more complicated. The post-tame cap on those skills is whatever the skill was pre-tame * .9.

so a pet with 119 wrestle pre-tame will have a post-tame cap of 107.1

EDIT
One thing I'm not sure of... if you beat the creature's health down, that may impact the skill cap... I know beating pets up before taming them can impact the skills on the pet post-tame, but I'm not sure if it impacts the cap on the skills of a critter post tame.

You can peace tame reptalons easily with 120 music/peace, so you don't need to beat them up (actually, the only creatures you really need to beat up to tame are the ones that must be beaten into submission)

Beating a reptalon doesn't effect it's skill cap. I've tamed and trained ones that were beaten and ones that were just lead tamed. They all reached their .9% of pretaming skills.

I've been out at the labyrinth sneaking around and loring a lot of them lately. I'm looking to see if one actually spawns with over 111 tactics. Think the highest I've seen is 108. I just want to see if I can find one that will train to over GM on that as well as the wrestling.

My first reptalon is in 107.something rather, and I think it might still be gaining. My second reptalon is stuck at GM. I don't know what their pre-tamed skills were.

I tested on the last two I trained. Lored before taming and did the math for the .90%. They both trained up to that point and no higher.

Ive tamed quite a few reps with pre tamed 120 wrestling. the taming nerf seemed to be that the skill nearly halved down to about 74-75. This has happened to all of the reps ive tamed. If ya can post a pic of any reps with over gm I d like to see em. thx

Yes, the skills really get dropped after taming. You need to lore them before taming and multiply by .9% to see what their post tame cap will be. This was was high 60s I believe right after I tamed it.

Not everyone that posts knows what they are talking about. The cap is definitely 90% of what their skill was pre-tame, or 100, whichever is higher.

I have one with 107.5 wrest and up to 105.5 tatics. But I was unlucky on his resists, just 53% Physical.
