Ranger House Quest Question

I understand the math and all for the lotto. My question is the lantern directly related to your char "number/name"? I have had couple glitch with toons and hope this isnt causing a glitch with lotto too.

1) Sebastian had do quest twice cause Guard didnt knowledge the 1st time i did it.

2) I lost a lantern on either Luc or Wyrmn. Friend did quest and gave me lantern.

3) The other day i found a lantern in box in my house..

Friend (who gave me new lantern) keeps tell no but still worried not knowing the coding.

Each lantern is coded for the person who finished the quest, I got an error message when I tried to use the wrong lantern once.
