Because that would increase the fun factor of the event, which would be very un-UO like. Its become a habit of theirs to give out delicious cake and icecream with poop in the middle. :/
that explains why i feel sick to my stomache after running the war from start to finish
it doesnt make sense that a person who puts in 30 minutes of time and kills 300 monsters gets rewarded exactly the same as a person that puts in 2 minutes of time and kills 1 monster
if they each did the war 10 times player A would have killed almost 3000 monsters and put in 5 hours
player B would have only killed 10 monsters and put in 20 minutes
and it is very likey that player B would get the bracers and player A would not
that doesnt seem right to me
It would be nice if healing other players in the fight earned you loyalty or something, but as it is I'm just enjoying neutrality and being able to help.
this has been a problem with UO ever since i can remember
healing other players and resurrecting them never gives you any type of reward
in fact it does the opposite it makes you lose damage output and lowers your chance of getting loot
why are all the nice friendly players shafted and the greedy selfish players rewarded?
the devs need to do something about this
perhaphs people who enjoy healing and resurrecting players could go get a special gem or pendant that fills up everytime they heal a player who is actively participating in the war
fill it up all the way and then go turn it in for either points or items
thats just an idea im sure there are many other ways the devs could reward healers

i dont mind doing the war over and over again but i just wish i could choose what i wanted and work towards that goal instead of getting bummed every time i get a stupid bag
i dont mind fighting in the war
id fight in it every time it was up if there was a point
as it is right now there isnt a point in actually fighting
you just hide by the flag and log on every 40 minutes or so
or cycle through all the shards checking the flags
leeching off of other players hard work
the design is stupid
it would be alot more fun fighting if you knew at the end of all your hard work youd actually get rewarded for your effort
how about all the rewards goes to the first person that clicks the chest?

I remember reading one of the dev's saying something in regards to this 'campaign' was designed for the person who doesn't play often, as well as for the person who plays often. meaning the rewards percentages were reasonably high. i've received two cloaks and one bracer from ... 20-30 pushes. seems reasonable to me plus I need all those other battles to gather the crystaline blackrock. hang in there Mr Alien.
oh thats a great idea lets make it so one person only has to do the war 5 times and then they can get on with their life while another person has to do the war 20 times and gets so frusterated at not getting rewarded they cancel their account and get on with their life
random is stupid
if it was set at a certain point value then they would both invest the same amount of time and run it the same amount of times and both be rewarded equally
the player who got frusterated after not getting anything after 20 times would stay motivated and positive cause they could see themselves inching closer towards their goal
then if they wanted another pair they would know exactly how long it should take and determine for themselves if they want to invest that much time
if it was medals and the medals could be traded you could have one of your hardcore friends farm some medals for you and then give them to you
new players could sell the medals to lazy people to earn some gold and buy themselves some better equipment
if the devs dont want the hardcore people to farm too many items they could make it so you can only get one of each type of reward per character or something
that would make it so only 7 of the item could be created per account
as it stands right now if someone was really motivated they could probably get dozens of the new items
though i dont know why the devs would even care how many items there were

yeah i like the ToT system too
you can see which rewards there are and you know exactly what you have to do to get them
your efforts dont feel wasted because you know as soon as you get 10 minors you will get one of the greaters you want
the thought of clicking a chest and hoping the random number generator is on your side today is a very dumb way of giving out items in my opinion
