Any chance there can be another way to purge anytime soon? Needing a mystic to purge a mystic is kinda crappy, and using a talisman to do it every so many minutes is unpractical.

Whether this be a spell added somewhere else (Chiv, magery, etc) a weapon property as once suggested (Hit dispel) a consumable (Purge potion?) or whatever, we just need atleast 1 more practical way of purging someone out of protection/stone form.

While i'm at it, tone down cleansing winds.... make it so it doesn't heal through mortal (just removes it) again, maybe make it so u can para someone WHILE they are casting it, or really tone down the amount it heals per curse, as the idea was good (less points healed per curse on you) but it needs bumped up a bit, possibly to the point that if it removes a curse or 2, there shouldn't also be damage healed. Also, should go back to having problems with deadly poison, and poison in general should seriously cut down the amount healed after the cure.


In retrospect, if you just drastically fixed cleansing winds... you wouldn't need another option for purge as much =P

Out of curiosity, do you see this mainly being an issue with people in protection and in stone form? Reason I ask is because I always figured there should be some additional *flaw* to stoneform aside from the -2 casting.

Yes mainly.

Mainly Cleansing winds +Protection (stone form for added effect).

I would have preferred if stone form remained slow like it was initially. I agree though, it is rather gimp. However, they are quite susceptible to curses if in pro...which lessens as you mentioned the amount of heals. As far as purge goes I feel the timer should be removed...it should just rely on resist as far as if it works or doesn't...especially considering it only removes one buff at a time. (pots have no timer so purged str or agility are easily replaced.)

Also, if any tweaks are done to purge...I personally think that ninja forms should once again be susceptible.

All the more reason to just make purge a no wait spell. If they base it on resist only, this should not be too much of an issue. I do agree with your assessment on stone form having too many *perks*.

I guess half of the problem here is no pvp testing was accomplished at all within beta...which really was a huge disappointment. The other half of the issue fell on people making complaints who really were not qualified to do so.

as rule in UO, if you die on a stealther with ninja, you suck at uo. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are.

One thing i dont have a problem with is adding purge to say, chivalry...providing you actually need chivalry (and not the almost mandatory max 50)

I would strongly oppose any form of consumable to purge, i feel there are too many consumables which ultimatly replace skills and as such would be against this.

Not sure on the weapon, kinda feel that might me a little too much but i could be swayed with a bout of testing.

Stone form and pro are gimp and gay. Cleansing wind is worse than before the "nerf". I liked the ability to remove mortal before the apple timer but there was a risk, you knew you couldnt heal from it. DP is all but ruined with little to no hope of resserection.

If we are on changes...i still think cures should carry the same timer as heals. Hell make refreshes have that timer as well.

If that happened all you would see is poison spammed ganks. Hell even mortal has a timer so that would have to be implemented to poison as well. Or healing through poison w/o removing the poison. Poison cost to little mana to become the new mortal strike for mages. You need a well though out plan for poison if you plan on changing cure potion timers.

At least a dexer knows wtf hes talking about in the aspect of cure timers.
But whatever, a lot of people think able to spam infectious strike over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over should be valid pvp "combo", and the easiest way is to put a cure pot timer.

All I can say is be careful of what you wish for you might as well just get it. I can already tell you what would happen now. Dexers QQing about why 120 resist is required to PvP now because every single mage and their mom is precast big dump, poison small dump poison poison poison *blocks a bandaid* dump dump poison poison poison and repeat...

Or even better dismount ganking squad will work most wonderful than ever. Dismount, a mage is dedicating doing nothing but mana vamp poison poison poison vamp poison poison poison vamp poison poison poison while the gank squad member #2 can lay down any type of dump he wants. Yes not even ur animal form will save you unless of course get 120 resist.

Good call, put a timer on cure pots.
