This may or may not have a straightforward answer but asking in game ended up with multiple answers so figured I'd try here. I kind of think this question has a "if/then" type of answer so laying out those would be helpful too. Please direct me to a link or place that might have a full explanation if that is easier.
Question: What skills (and when) take into account "real skill" versus +skill items (ie jewelry etc)?
My loose understanding is that any skill that has a mastery is definitely one that should have real skill points because if you use a mastery that's what is checked; ie swords/macing/music skills/taming/ninja/etc. I was also told that tactics real skill was needed as well because that's checked for using primary/secondary specials (ie armor ignore) and also checked for some of the warrior masteries.
Question 2: If I'm not going to use a specific skill mastery, does real skill matter (ie not going to use death ray so does magery matter)?
As I'm fine tuning suits I'm trying to add +skill items to them to maximize everything I can, but I don't love the idea of dropping real skill without knowing for sure how it works. My current suit is for a "PvP thief" (ie max survivability) and I have several items I wear or have as options that would free up more skill points. I primarily use the ninja mastery so I'm guessing that shouldn't be dropped from 120. So the list of skills I'm thinking about dropping to use these items would be stealing/snooping/resist/magery/wrestling/(stealth already dropped); would there be any downside of dropping these skills? I dropped my stealth to like 30 real (120 skill from items) and maybe it's just me but I feel like I'm revealed more. I thought I read that real skill stealing came into play when stealing from hidden chests??
Question 3: For a warrior any drawback of having lower real skill in anatomy/bushido/chivalry/necro/parry (again not using any of these masteries)??
In a similar boat for my Sampire trying to squeeze every skill point out of my suit to make him more tanky.
Thank you!
