Everytime I get on the family computer UO has been removed =/ it would be fine and everything but patching from the SE disk has taken forever. Is it possible to hide programs in the Add or Remove Programs.

It sure is possible but it would need you to remove a key in reg edit. It's named DisplayName and the data in it is the name of your version of UO.
Could the real problem be that your family need a second harddrive for games?
I'm sure they will know how to delete it without the uninstall in Add or Remove Programs. :lick:

I don't remember the full details, but some months ago someone was touring Europe and playing uo on public computers. I don't remember how he had the game installed, either usb or ipod? Sorry that's all I can remember.

Would something like that provide a solution to your problem?

Some small usb harddrive do have software that make you take your profile and installed programs with you so it's almost like you have your whole computer with you, think the small WD can do it.

This way, noone can mess up your game. It take a hell of time to install on it and it may slow you down ingame too.
I may be wrong, maybe it only works for emails and dokuments.

Kill family members?

If that is not an acceptable alternative, if the computer is YOURS, then I would make user accounts for each family member, assuming it is Windows XP or Vista, and only give yourself admin access. This will prevent other users from uninstalling software. If they are in Power Users default group, they may still install software on their OWN account as well as set up printers, and other users up to Power User access level, but they can only remove what they install, and they can't delete data in the folders of user accounts they did not create.

Also, in Windows XP, with admin access, when you install a program usually it gives an option to install for all users or "just for me" - but that means you still need individual user accounts.
