Quick reforging question

If I want to make a piece to reforge, should I use a high and runic or barbed leather for the resource? Do I want to make a bow using a heart wood fetching kit and then reforge with the same fetching kit?

I have questions like that.

The item you want to reforge can`t have any magical properties to start with. So you use the basic tool for whatever crafting skill (sewing kit etc), then you use the runic tool near a soulforge to reforge. Then you pof up, imbue ( if you can) and then enhance ( if you have the forged metal tool)

Serafi is correct. Also I tend to reforge with low end runics because some of the properties I want cannot be made using the high end, or there are too many extra properties added that I don't want.

Now I feel like an idiot for going out and buying so many valarite hammers, heartwood fletching kits, hardwood dovetail saws, and barbed leather runics!

Did I just waste millions?

No no not a waste. In fact, you can easily create a character on test center and try things out before committing to using your own runics. I can't find my notebook where I recorded some results, but I want to say that I had nice results crafting shields with high end runics. And here is an example of something I made with a barbed runic:

But I want to say for some specific things I was trying to male like luck or armor with HCI, I used a spined runic. I think it's just a matter of what properties you want and/or how much room left you need to imbue other properties.
