Questions re: Ki-Rin

Also, I have a soft spot for Kirin. As a returning player, I have 4 questions i cannot find answers for - whilst i am happy to test on TC or on prod shard, I think you sages will know - which would save me a lot of wasted time if you are kind enough to help please?

Here goes!

1) UO-CAH details the below.
Does this mean that they can be used by any (male) character in the same way that a Sammy can use a lesser hiryu - ie: they can even be ridden by a toon without tame/lore, as long as they are not trained?

Special Information
  • The Ki-Rin will cast a chain lightning spell on targets attacking its owner when its owner is low on health
  • The Ki-Rin can only be tamed by Male characters
  • The Ki-Rin can only be ridden by Male characters
  • The Ki-Rin can be transferred and controlled by anyone once tamed
  • Rare Meat eating legacy versions of the Ki-Rin still exist
2) It looks like K-Rin are still undesirable/sub "optimal" pets to expend time/gold training as unlike Lesser Hiryu, they start at 2 slots, not 1, therefore they cannot be trained as much is this correct?
3) Do all Ki-Rin spawn @ 2 slots, or like mares which can be 2/3 might they spawn as 1 slots? (hopium)
4) Reading all posts and notes, there seem to be no such things as pre-patch Kirin, with OP STR or lower-than-norm slot usage; unlike my mares. So my legacy pets don't differ in any way to the new ones - please can you confirm?

Then cheeky extra ones:
Should i bin all my old Cu/Hiryu/Lesser Hiryu/GDs?

Many thanks in advance,
Garm.

I think that means you can transfer it to a female after tamed.

They are low on build points so you have to make decisions on what to sacrifice to get an AI/Chiv build.

If the old Cus and hiryus are 4 slot then toss them.
Are the lessers not 1 slot?

what they mean is females can not tame or ride them but a Male can tame 1 and transfer it to a female. she will still not be able to ride it but she can control it. if she polymorphs into a male I believe that let's her ride it. the same works with males and unicorns.
