questions about the drop rates on the threads

ok so i been working my new necro and i finally gmed spirit speak so i can get the threads of thought.

who came up with the drop rates on them??
the threads of thought, im getting about 1 in 3.
the threads of life, about 1 in 5
the threads of fate, about 1 in 40??????

its no joke, i been working about 2 hours or so, i got
44 threads of thought, witch by the way only the threads only seem to stack in piles of 5 or less. if they even stack at all. these seem to be the easiest to get, you just stand there and cast exorcism when they walk by.

28 threads of life.. these take longer you have to talk to the ghost.. you cant just spirit speak and walk off.. witch btw when i gmed spirit speak i figured i would actually say something besides oooOOooOO guess they couldnt come up with anything..

and only 5 threads of fate..

ive probably killed 200+ of those guys too. they mob me and i just wither them till they die.


any ideas?

yes, kill them with a different character.

The right character to use on the corrupted souls is a warrior. Mine uses a rather nice radiant scimitar, enemy of one and whirlwind attack.

I get threads of fate just fine on my necro mage. I carry swords of prosperity for the defense and occasional hit and I use 2 spell combo to kill them. Poison strike followed by pain spike. The drop rate is still slow compared to the other two threads but still better than what your reporting.

I'm using a necro macer with a Scepter of the Chief (100% ML and 100% poison damage), use enemy or one and usually 2 or 3 hit kill gaining back the mana. My drop rate is way higher than 1:40 and by the way I've had stacks of 10 threads of each type.

What I do is use SS to talk to a ghost, cast the exorcism spell to gather threads of thought, and kill corrupted souls until I get enough mana to cast exorcism again. By then the first ghost has died and I am ready to use spirit speak again. Just wash, rinse and repeat!

easiest way i found to get the fate threads was on legendary swords/tacts/anat with gm LJ, drop a good axe on him, do EEO and CW and one hit the lil suckers to no end

maybe its the area effect..

ill try a more direct spell.

basically i been just running around withering everything lol. i get about 4 or 5 on me and 2 or 3 die at a time.
