Questions about ship-to-ship fighting

Maybe someone can help clear that up:

• Who can damage my boat in Trammel? Everyone? Only enemy guilds? Members of my own guild? (provided that they have a ship with cannons, of course)
  
• Can my ship be damaged while it is left alone? I usually don't dry-dock my ships, but I don't want it to be damaged while I am offline.
  
• Who can I damage with grapshot ammo in Trammel? Only enemy guilds? Members of my own guild?

Few of us planned on testing several of these things this weekend... so I'll get back to you on that.

I know in Tram you can hit the enemy with grapeshot.

If you just leave the ship sitting, it will start to decay like a house. Using the tillerman will refresh it.

Ships CAN be damaged when you aren't around. Incidentally, nobody should park anywhere between Jhelom and Serpent's Hold, as NPC Pirates can damage ships.

On the beta shard your boat would not actually decay away. After 7 days it would dry dock itself and return to your pack. However, if you keep things in the hold it will propably go poof.

Ok so answers:

You can hurt Guildmates, allies and Warred parties from a boat on shore... using grapeshot.

You can damage guildmates, allies and Warred enemies boats.

All in Tram.

So how do the cannons work in ship to ship combat? Is there a distance you have to be for them to hit? For instance, if you are too close will it not do any damage?

If your too close it don't do any damage.. you need to be about 3 to 5 tiles I think from your target.
