Questions about Atlantic Shard

Hi everyone,

I am a soon to be new player to UO and since i have not yet decided on with Shard to play i wanted to know the impressions of the player that play on this Shard about the fellowing subjects.

1. Play style preference (PvE/PvM or PvP or RP) ?

2. If it is PvP, does it seem to be organised PvP (guild vs guild/Duel/Faction "war") or does it seem to be Pker attacking anyone in sight just because they feel like it?

3. Does it seem there are many thief ?

4. Server population ?

5. Is it hard to find a spot to build a house ?

I Choose RP PVP

2. If it is PvP, does it seem to be organised PvP (guild vs guild/Duel/Faction "war") or does it seem to be Pker attacking anyone in sight just because they feel like it?
While you can do all of that here, I mainly do dules, and RP battles. This allows for more controlled scenarios and criteria, like, castle seiges, assassinations, boat attacks. But since I live in fel we get a few normal all out battles.

3. Does it seem there are many thief ?
I actually dont see many thief in fel. Id love to see more. we have a few in the RP community.

4. Server population ?
Massive

5. Is it hard to find a spot to build a house ?

I'm an emissary in a purely PvM guild, so you know I'm a trammy at heart. Lately, though, I've been branching out to PvP. Two characters deep into PvP and getting hooked.


2. If it is PvP, does it seem to be organised PvP (guild vs guild/Duel/Faction "war") or does it seem to be Pker attacking anyone in sight just because they feel like it?
Atlantic is so large, there are plenty of opportunities to experience each of these dynamics.


3. Does it seem there are many thief ?
Atlantic is home to PO0, once UO's largest thief guild. However, their visionary/founder/leader, Shinobi, has been having computer problems for several months, which has caused their numbers to shrink. Once he gets back in game, I'm sure he'll be looking for new recruits.

Of course, if you're looking to avoid thieves, that's as easy as a) staying out of fel and b) being wary.


4. Server population ?
Atlantic is UO's largest shard.

5. Is it hard to find a spot to build a house ?
Depends on how big the spot is. I have guild mates marking available spots all the time big enough for max storage space. However, if you want max square footage, you'll either have to a) buy it or b) place after an IDOC.

3. Yes, plenty of thieves. Not many on during the summer, but I've seen more and more recently.

4. Alot.

5. If you're looking for "a house" then no. If you're looking for 18x18 then yes.

Other then that Atlantic is the most populated shard in UO
