Call me naive but...

What is the point of the daily maintenance on every server? What happens exactly? And why does TSO/EA Land need it?

If you've ever experienced being stuck, you'll be very thankful it's done daily. It forces things to close and reset.

Avatar Leasing bug, causes sims to be stuck in limbo, neither on a property or able to leave.

Daily maintenance also, is where Visitor Hours, bonuses and Sim Move are processed and more than a few glitches get straightened out (like missing or half missing items).

It is the large scale version of resetting your house.
