I saw this cleaver going for 10 mil -

So, what if you had a 120 mage with 100 poison? Would you be able to use infect strike, even if you had no swordsmanship?

No you would need the weapon skill.

It's a mage weapon therefore you don't need a weapon skill. But to use it to poison you would need tactics.

ps. if you have 120 magery all you would need for DP is 80. That would leave you 20 extra points to be put to better use.

But, if you have poison you don't need tactics for infect strike. That's why the whole thing made me wonder about it.

You probably do need the swords to make it work though. I was just making sure.

Edit: by the way, do you think that wep is worth 10mil?

Again yes you would need the weapon skill - using infectious strike has nothing to do with with tactics if you have poisoning. The weapon is worth 10 mil if you are going to put it on a mage template and not have a weapon skill the hit lightning is very nice and if your suit has been properly loaded with dci you shall have fun with it.

I would say yes to the 10 mill if it didn't have the negative SC. But since it does then I would have to say no. There is also no SSI or DI. The Lightning is cool but the lightning spell on weps seem to be a little buggy. Occasionally when the lightning hits you don't get the weapons damage to hit too. I personally like fireball better due to the delay in it hitting You would probably be better off looking on Atlantic and doing a shard transfer. There is alot of decent stuff for cheap over there.
