Question on Vamp Form

Have they changed the skill in my 6 month leave from the game or am I missing or forget something?

When I logged in after my time away I was still in form. Took the fighter out and died. Now when I try to use my items to get back into form whenever I take the items off, poof, "You can't maintain your special form anymore"

Is this something new or did I get hit with a spell that I don't remember?

It was changed a few patches ago. Vamp form itself didn't change but you need the minimum skill required to maintain any form. In the case of vamp form, you need 99 necromancy to maintain the form. You can either leave your +necro items equipped at all time or get necro skill for real.

The change already caused a riot. So please...... you know what I was gonna say.

or tweak it.. i personally didn't try a sampire until way after the change... got myself a nice bracelet with +12 necro on it, so I can make the skills fit into the template now..
I just have to work the bushido and parry up to 115 to give it a whirl

Cruddy part is going to be having to redo an entire suit to make this happen...I can see why people were in a little ticked off with this change.

you need high SS, but i think zero necro for humans. curse weapon spam



I found the new vampire templates lack healing or tactics. both which I desire. No reason to be running across a screen and die because a few wraiths or liches are dumping on you.

I know a guy who fit it all in, but his jewels have 45 skill each on them.

Wraith even with scrolls will never cast at 0 skill strangely, need to go to about 40 i believe with scrolls.

My basic skills are:

Swords
Bushido
Parry
Tactics
Anatomy
Necromancy
Chilvary

It works well, the keys are high defense chance increase and leeches. (soulseeker is a really good starter weapon so long as you avoid undead).

For now, I'm trying to avoid doom because I don't have enough soulstones to regularly swap anatomy for resists, and I like the extra damage it offers.

If I can ever get the right jewelry/gear, I may try to finagle my skills around to allow for healing, but so far, it really isn't necessary. Especially if I have a friend emergency healing me for the really difficult fights.

Yup, as far as I know, Necro scrolls do not give the -skill requirement to cast like magery scrolls.

It'll make my vampire embrace scrolls so useful (I mainly loot them off DFs). Right now, I just carry a couple of them to recast VE without using regs or charges on my arcane clothing.

IMO this is nothing but a good change. To many ppl were soloing everything i know when i tryed a sampire (over a year ago) i could solo proxy putryrer dread horn the keys to prism of light.

and all with like 3 macros.

Now on my tamer i can still solo dread horn but thats about it and it takes alot more than 3 macros. On my mage i can beat almost any non boss but its a long tatical fight and not a repeat spam of the same macros over and over and over. Vampform from items super samis were UO on ez mod and lets face it tram is already ez anofe
