I have a boat that says "ship model" not "A ship model" can we clarify if this is server birth then? I believe when things where renamed the letter "A" was added to show the difference can anyone clarify?

While I cannot verify that it is server birth, I do know that mine also says 'ship model'. I can't say I've recently seen any with an 'a'.

I can't clarify, I can only add 2 screenshots, and hope for an explantion:

Screen shot 1, a ship I placed, renamed, docked. There is no way to remove the 'A':

Screen shot 2, the one I've had locked down for several years:

Neither one will be considered a true Ship Model, because they are bothe Blessed which a true one is not.

Yah the big boys do laugh!!! jeeze!!!

..Ive posted about this before when i found a old ''ship model'' but it had been blessed (without the 'a' and u cant name a ship without the 'a' at the start) from a castle faller and got shot down big time by the big boys !! because it is blessed..so alas if someone did bless a real ship model iam afriad its now lost most of its value ....u should keep it and treasure it.....it maybe a real one and its only pixel crack anyways.....stil looks cool on display...

Hehe, so now might be the time to finally get into the real meaning of this story, and start 2008 by solving that long forgotten mystery : why on earth would someone use a valuable IBD for a ship model ... or where do all these *blessed* ship models really come from?

[/ QUOTE ]The only reason they (not sure that includes me but whatever) laughed, and also the reason I'm rubbing your nose in it now, is course you didn't believe the big boys when they told you it wasn't a true Ship Model.
Instead you still insist there is a possibility somebody did in fact use an Item Bless Deed on a serverbirth Ship Model while there is no good reason whatsoever to do so. Add to that the fact there are at least a few dozen semi-rare-labeled drydocked ships exactly like it and it's pretty easy to dismiss your theory.

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck.... It's probably a duck!

I think hemi said a couple years ago that it was an html bug people could do on ship names to remove the 'a'. More likely than some nut using an ibd on a ship model. *shrugs*

Still !!!!.....true or not with the 'ship model' blessed .....who cares?? its pixel crack!
However Item bless deeds were duped big time....so what does it matter if i do or i do not believe mine is real...i love it and it makes great decor in my house!!

Oh and im soooooo glad i wasnt one of the peeps that used a Bless Deed on a Orni of the Mag....oh my god...
.... down to 10m at mo,...give it another month and down to 5m...come summer we pick em off the bank floors......

Good day and thankyou for the ''nose rub''?????

I have two ship models just called "Ship Model" (no "A") that are both blessed. I am 100% certain that they are just old drydocked ships. I've never bought a ship from anyone other than an npc, never used a trick to HTML tag anything, and definitely never owned a IBD. What I can't remember is whether I named the ship "Ship Model" at the time I drydocked it or whether it had some other name that just got replaced by the generic ship model name. The former is most likely though.

well, hindsight is a beautiful thing. What would people use their PBD on back in the day if not an orny or whatever? In hindsight I woulda picked up a hell of a lot of roses and furs off the bankfloor and got my tailor to make a wack of sewn by clothing!

Now from a board discussion on these ship models like 3 years back...I remember bing told there were 4 types of ship models...one being the unblessed "ship model" thats the true server birth. One being the the "A Ship model" thats a re-named boat. And the other two (one of which yours and mine are) that says "Ship Model" Blessed...where the diff between the two types had something to do with yellow tags or position of wording for which what Hemi says was a glitch in dry docking back in the day...so there is a good handful of them around, just like sewn by clothing.

Lets not bring up things that are better left in the past!

Also, easy on personal attacks. If you are annoyed with a poster then ignore them. If you think they are doing something wrong, pm a mod. Otherwise you might find yourself getting banned and it is not worth it.

xxmoondancerxx The answer to your question is my FIRST REPLY , before my post was needlessy poked at...

''if its ''blessed'' its a normal dry docked ship...''

The simplest way to find out is to stick it in a vendor!!, if its a real server ship model the automatic vendor cost will be a few gold coins ( cant quite remember exactly), but if its a glitched(ship model)dry docked ship then the automatic vendor cost will be the price of selling a ship deed =8k something like that...

Hope that clears it up for you and good luck- fingers crossed yes.

Sorry it came off that way...had absolutely no intent towards Houseplotter...just stating what i heard 3 years ago from those who would prob know...and that PBD were used for ...well, almost anything!

Your post really surprised me...and upon re-reading what I typed this morning...I still don't see how in the world it coulda been seen that way. But I'll give sorries all around.
