Question on Grinds

Why do people complain about how long it takes to get all town banners for example. Isn`t that a choice the player made? Isn`t that a concious decision motivated by your own want to get ALL banners. No, I don`t mean that is wrong in itself. I just don`t understand why people complain when they themselves made it a grind by the decision they made.
I had no interest in getting more than one banner, and did what was required for that. It didn`t take me very long. I wouldn`t even dream of working that to get more, because I don`t like to grind so I simply avoided that as usual.

It was fun, and something to do but ... the work involved made me think there was a good secret reason for doing the grind .. because UO always has had reasons for making something hard to achieve .. but this was a bottomless pit.
Why do you constantly delete your posts? It's kind of annoying.
