Question for those interested in the EC.

Had a thought... some folks say they cant' get the EC to run properly on their PC even on Newer PC's

Thought I'd do a poll seeing what type of Processor AMD vs Intel 32-bit vs 64-bit they have. Maybe it will show a serious trend and point out an area for improvement to the devs.

The reason being is AMD and Intel processors handle data slightly differently, it might be an optimization issue with the EC causing many of the problems people have.

And my Enhanced client runs fine I was having crash problems over a month ago but once I got all my updates current they stopped the only problem i have atm is my internet connection varies but thats not EC problem

Part of what people need to do is adjust the settings to what feels best for them on their computer

one example is dont play in windowed mode play full screen on almost all computers this makes a difference

I have not voted because i have no problems and the poll I believe should be for those who have problems?
in order to narrow down if a certain system is the problem!

It's funny though I only have issues in Full screen, never in windows mode... might be due to the fact I'm not running a supported OS but who knows...

another thing i wanted to mention is that one of the updates i did was a 2d and 3d graphics patch for windows 7 it may have been what fixed it I installed it to fix issues with wow (and it did not fix it)

Also might want to make sure all your motherboard drivers are up to date. I was having a daily "hard lock" on my system for a while, found out it was a conflict between the new video card and the mobo drivers. A quick update fixed that (although Civ 5 seems to have brought it back on occasion... I might have to think about a new card in the somewhat near future... just depends on how money goes).

Care to put up that Win 7 patch? I might look into that as well.

Gotcha... thanks I'll have to look into that when I get back in town... currently around 30 someodd thousand feet on the way to Baltimore on a business trip. Yay in flight wifi!

Quad core phemon II - doing fine, apart from the random crash to desktop.

Dual processor AMD Opteron Quad-core 2360 Barcelona -- this system crashes to desktop occasionally

AMD Athlon II X3 440 Rana 3.0 GHz -- this system also crashes to the desktop

AMD Phenom II X3 740 Heka 3.0 GHz -- this system too crashes to the desktop occasionally

Laptop, AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core mobile ZM-82 -- this system crashes to the desktop too

64bit intel here, no processing problem, only performance problem i have is harddrive cant keep up with fast running mounted.

maybe the solution was to use less compression for textures?

9gb ddr3 sys mem
1 terrabyte hard drive

Doubled checked all my drivers and updated day before yesterday. Crashed 4 times in 5 hours yesterday. Sent bug reports for everyone.
