Question for new player

They downloaded the new enhanced client.
When they log on they are only see the retribution shard. I can log in and see all the shards so I don't think its the server.

Is the 'enhanced' client a patch for an existing client?
It doesn't appear to be acting as a full client.

It sounds like they downloaded the version of the 2d client that is meant for the open beta testing of the SA content.
