The damage is based on your real eval, magery and primer level. FC might help, SDI has no effect, FCR won't matter since you can't cast anything else while its on, or move, or take damage. The ways I have found to increase the damage from it is a slayer spellbook, disco the monster and pets using rune corruption or conductive blast(it does energy damage).
