WHY do people keep telling others to go through compassion to get there when that's the longest way there? BTW, if you're running into trolls, you're going EAST, not west, from Compassion.
OK, here's the correct route.
Go to the Honor moongate.
Follow the rock wall to the right, till you get to a mine entrance - if you reach the Inn, you've gone past it.
Go into the mine. You are now in Central Ilshenar. One of the creature types you need are near this entrance, but bypass them, because you can't get the other one there.
Run around the volcano, to the desert to the south. This is the desert with the Gargoyle city, if you need to make a bank stop, or get resurrected. If you don't visit the city (and you'll want to eventually, if you have a miner, alchemist or carpenter), just keep running south out of the desert.
Now, you will find yourself in an area with some elementals and lava pools. Run west through them, to a truncated pyramid structure - this is Exodus' lair, and your destination.
Go inside, and go into the square filled with a star field in the center of its ground floor. This will put you in the lair itself.
Take the corridor to the north, till it ends in a turn to the right. This is the best hunting spot for the overseers and minions, as several of the smaller (overseers?) and one of the large ones (minions? It's 4:20 AM here, so bear with my sleep-deprived brain) spawn there.
If you get a paragon minion, run away to lose it, and look for a non-paragon minion elsewhere in the dungeon.
