Question about Runic Hammers

Now I collect the prepatch runic hammers from a long time ago. The ones when they had higher charges and then they dropped them down. For example dull copper runics used to have 100 charges and now new ones have 50.

I have come into possession of an Agapite Runic Hammer with 100 charges. Going by my notes from back then... the prepatch charges should be 50. An yes, it does say "Agapite Runic Hammer" so it isn't a hammer made out of Agapite.

Is there a way to combine charges I am unaware of?
Is this from a bug back in the day? (I recall the max charges got tweaked a lot back then)
Is this from another source I'm unaware of such as a reward?

I admit I haven't participated in the bod system for a long time. So I'm trying to figure out what I have and whether it is worthwhile to continue the collection. Thank you so very much for your time!

Yeah unfortunately you can now make 100 charge agi's through reforging.

*Alot has changed in BOD's. I'd hit the craftsman forum for some great info.

Is there a way to combine charges I am unaware of?

You can combine runic hammers up to 100 charges if you "use" them near a Soulforge. If the resulting charges would exceed 100, the hammers won't combine.

Thank you Fridgster and Obsidian! I was so afraid of that. Thank you so much for the quick response.

I wish they had put [reforged] or something on the runics to make them appear differently than the really old versions of the runics. I have spent years collecting those old hammers - Oh well! As a rares collector this isn't the first rare that changes have ruined and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Another quick question... does this reforging thing also affect ancient smith hammer charges?

nope, ancient hammers do not combine.
