yes sometimes it will say you repair item but it loses durability some time you wont lose any the higher your skill the better chance not to lose!

yup ... even when using a repair deed from a Legendary <insert skill here>, you might lose a durability point. I used to keep powder of fortification around for when the durability dropped REALLY low ... like < 70 maximum. Then I'd use a few charges to at least 100 max.

The diference between the item's current halth and its total health also factors into the chance for that item to lose a point of durability when repaired. Check the FAQs in the Crafter Forum, they might have the formula.

So using powder of fort will lessen the chance?
if say your 250 item has 50 durability left and you use a POF on it and raise it to 150 then repair your chance to lose durability would be less !
what I do is just use the item and repair as needed and when my durability gets to 100 down I use a whole POF to raise it back!

I think for the FACTION replicas, you can get something that works, but not for the "normal" replicas.

To repair factions arties, you need to get the faction version of POF - Powder of Perseverance from the faction chest. Costs 300 silver and fully repairs the artifact. However, each time you use it, the max durability goes down by 25, and you can only repair it 5 times.

Faction arties lasts much shorter than replicas.

Replicas lasts a much long time as they can be repaired. I would advise against hoping you won't lose durability by regular repairs of the slightest damage.

In the long run, we tend to get owned by the RNG. I have reguarly gotten the reduced durability like what was experienced in the OP's firt post. ie Repairing 254/255 arties with a lengendary smith and getting back a 254/254 durability item...

Just accept that you will lose max durability and repair it only when it hits the single digits (or any higher number you are more cormfortable with).

Although there is supposed to be a chance of not losing a point of max durability if the damage is slight and the repairer is highly skilled, I have never made a repair recently without losing a point of max durability.

It might be the RNG, but I do suspect repair is broken.

It's not quite broken, but I have managed to get one or two repairs without durability loss. But I haven't used a legendary repair deed in forever without losing some.

If you repair with a maximum skill crafter (instead of a deed), you will rarely lose a point of durability for items if repaired before they lose 20-25 durability. Typically, once an item loses over 50 durability, you're 100% likely to lose a point.
