I've read a lot about the new ships being attacked and taking damage and being disabled. I have a few questioins that I haven't seen anything on and any help would be appreciated.

Can the new ships be sunk? If so are they lost for good?

Do the new ships have secure storage? What about lockdowns , etc?

I've read that when a ship is damaged to a certain extent it can be boarded .Does this mean that (assuming there is secure storage) itemas can be taken from the ship?

Can my ship be attacked while I'm logged off?

No, only disabled (scuttled), at which point you need to make "emergency repairs" to get the ship moving again. Those repairs give you about a five minute window or more to get to land in order to do more intensive repairs. If you get your ship to about 70% repair state you can sail at 100% speed.

No, they are not houses (not even the Brit one, the 150m/UOGameCodes one). Just regular boats w/ bigger holds.

In Fel your ship can be damaged any time, and looted, but it probably won't happen in Trammel. Unless you have an idiot guildmate or something, or a player lures an Orc/Merchant ship next to you somehow.

I guess the best advice is you just shouldn't keep anything too valuable in a ship, 1) because it will decay if you don't refresh it in time, and 2) because it isn't as secure as a bank or a house.

Great info. Thanks. Just one clarification please. If I have items in the hold and the ship is boarded, can the raiders access the items in the hold?

Like chests in your house, it depends on the security settings.

My guildmates can access my ships hold, but random people boarding it can't.

Definetly watch it if you have ships docked in Fel. They can be attacked, and looted while you are offline. Your hold is NOT secure in Fel.

I know this because I thought it would be a good idea to dock a ship at the Fishing Emporium in Fel so I could get the cheaper saltpeter. It went fine for a couple days then I returned one day to find my ship scuttled and the hold empty. That explains why the Emporium was deserted!

Would the folks in Fel object too much to suggesting that the Emporium have a guard zone to protect ships parked around it? I imagine that boat owners in Fel must routinely empty and dock their ships to protect them. This might help them out and bring a little life to the Emporium.

I don't generally play in Fel, so I'll open the debate to the players that actually do.
