"When an IDOC drops, housing cannot be placed on the lot for a random amount of time"

Anyone know what kind of time frame I'm looking at for this random amount of time? Minutes, hours, days?

It's random.
30 mins-3 hrs.
Just gotta sit and wait for the timer to run out like the rest of us pal.

What about the loot from a idoc? Did they change anything with how the loot drops? Or is it still a free for all for loot as soon as the house drops?

Why did they implement that? :coco:

I read about the idea of implementing this because too many people were using scripts. Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of scripts because they can run in an endless loop? :coco:

Did they implement a timeout on the house placement tool like a random 30-50 seconds too? :coco: edit oh wow they added that too, roughly a three minute cool down if you open your houseplacement tool too many times in a row.

Anyone have this happen to you when you collapse your own house, for some odd reason I see this being an annoying.... er I mean great! bug in the future :coco:

:coco: coco icon because if I had time to do IDOC's I'd go crazy with that rule.

they started this some time ago, I don't remember exactly when. Somewhere around publish 52, i think?
yes, the house placement tool has a cool down, as you see.
it stops the scripters from placing a house on the fallen one, and getting all the 'goodies'. now, everyone has a chance at getting the stuff from the idoc.

there's also a new rule that accounts less than 15 days can't place a house at all.

no one has reported any problems with replacing houses. you have half an hour of 'safe time' to place a new house in the same place.

Yeah I can see the logic with the house cool down period.. Thats pretty cool (I did some testing), when I did IDOC's I'd refresh the tool say every 3-5 minutes while waiting for a house to drop. It seems the burn out and cool down would be fine for how I played. I also use houseplacement tools to check my bank balances and have not had any issues with the tool.

I really don't understand the wait for the houses. I feel the players think they are not getting a fair chance may be overrated. When I was doing too many IDOC's I got tons of loot with the use of in game macros, last target, last object place house, drag and hop. But they probably put that in because of players like me. It kind of seems like a "nanny" rule. Enough people complain about walking into a wall so everyone gets to play dress up in pillows. I used to place a house and grab as much loot as I could from underneath the other players. Doesn't seem like scripts really can do much with the timeout. It seems logical that scripts would be running while they house is the IDOC stage, which would trigger the tool and make the placement fair for those that can't outplace the dumb loop scripts. Was always fun to kill a player you presumed to be scripting in felucca, or monster drag on them in tram, and watch there ghost twich every second while it tried to place a house. I still think this is :coco:. But that could be from a lack of knowledge on how scripts work. If its still an issue after this I don't understand why they don't implement some anti cheat program.. What ever happened to punk buster? too many players complain or did they notice too many players cheated? Seems like a better idea than making the game harder for non cheating players.

I suppose I may be overly paranoid about house changes, some "bugs" scare me and I'm not talking about blue beetles.
