Question about Hit Mana Drain & Hit Fatigue.....

ok So I'm familiar with how Hit mana leech & Hit stamina leech work, but I just looked up
Hit Mana Drain / Hit Faigue on uoguide & this is what it said...

"Hit Mana Drain is an item property found on certain weapons. A successful hit with such a weapon reduces a target's mana by 20% of the damage dealt by the wielder who triggered the effect. The intensity ranges between 2% - 50%."

My question is this.... If I have a weapon with "Hit Mana Drain 50%" & I hit someone for 20 dmg does that mean I drain 4 mana from them & the percentage chance of that happening is 50% every time I hit them?

My confusion is that as an example "Hit mana leech" lists a Maximum about that can be leeched as 40% of the damage dealt. Then your weapons Hit Mana leech percentage then leeches a random value from 0 to that percentage of the 40% Maximum... So... does it work like uoguide says it does?

Anyone? an example to clarify with numbers would be great lol. I simply don't have weapon with either property heh.

Thx in advance.

This is correct. And it will actually drain it from your targets mana. If the target has 0 mana you can't "Mana Drain".
Mana Leech will drain from the targets hit points the exact way you said 0%-X% of the damage delt.

Wowzers lol...

Hmm now I gotta check to see if Ranged weapons work any differently... like how Hit mana leech is less for a bow etc..

I'd think this could be insanely powerful.... 50% Hit mana drain. means every AI has a potential 50% chance to drain 7 Mana? That could be a SIGNIFICANT Mana Reduction kinda like fighting some newbie in Wraith form with 120 SS... Actually Fatigue could be nice as well if say Ranged (Throwing) isn't penalized... If you can hit for say 28 dmg with a regular hit that's 5.6 stamina you'd drain 50% of the time. It wouldn't be hard to "stam out" most mages or actually even Dexxers doing that.... Heck go with Macing Melee and now your Regular hits drain roughly 75% of dmg from stamina bc it's Macing & then tac on Fatigue to make it an almost 1:1 ratio of Dmg to stamina Drain..... Nothing like watching an opponent stam out allowing a kill shot...

Anyway.. going to check the Range aspect now lol.

OK.. Finally did some testing...

A few points.

--Hit Mana Drain & Hit Fatigue have NO sound effect... So the only way you know if they go off is by loss of man / stam to your target. (Actually I guess you could possibly track how much the ATTACKER gains also, but that harder with natural regens already going)

--Hit Mana Drain at least seems to be working as expected meaning it takes 20% of the dmg you dealt from the target's Mana... (I didn't check to see if it GIVES it to the attacker, but it's supposed to I think)

--Hit Fatigue though seems to be MESSED up. As far as I can tell if your using a Non Mace Fighting weapon skill about 15% of the damage you deal is drained from the targets stamina. When I did a prolonged TEST with a 40% Fatigue weapon I got pretty close to the expected 40 times that it should have gone off which is good. The MESSED up part was that once I accounted for the 15% stamina damage that everthing but MACE fighting does I had about 38 data points that were draining less than 10% of stamina from the Fatigue effect. That means out of 100 hits I NEVER drained more than 25% of my damage from the targets stamina... I'm guessing FATIGUE is broke atm.. usually Mana effects are less than stamina effects..

Anyone else tested this.. ?? thx.
