Question about dual monitors?

If I was to get a second monitor is it possible to run 2 accounts at the same time. My problem is that I upgraded to windows 10 . Before with windows 7 when I hit alt / tab it automatically switched to my other account. Now when I hit alt / tab it minimizes both and then I gotta select the other account. This doesn't seem like a big deal but instead of 2 seconds to switch it takes 10 and it's got me killed quite a few times the last 3 weeks.

I know exactly what your talking about. I just got my Windows 10 two days ago with my new puter. So I haven't caught up with this issue yet. Still stomping out the bugs with my larger issues lol. I have issues! I'll almost bet there's a button hidden somewhere in this mess that will let us just alt tab again.

Good to know about the alt/tab thing...now I'm even more hesitant about upgrading to windows 10 :/

Maybe downgrade back to 7? But yeah the more monitors you have the more clients you can have visible to you. I keep wanting to get a second monitor but there's no room on my desk

I got Windows 10 as soon as it came out but went back to Windows 8.1 after three weeks. Despite having a computer that is fairly new (purchased right after Christmas), Windows 10 slowed my entire computer down. It was exponentially fast the first few days, but then it seemed to hit some kind of a wall and would take forever on start ups, or even simple tasks like plugging my USB headphones in. It was excruciating. I mainly got it for the purpose of being able to project to and from X-Box, but it was more of a novelty than something I saw myself doing on a frequent basis. Hopefully they work out some of the bugs.

Well just keeping up with one client on one monitor is a full time job for me. But I've done the alt tab thing at the bank to transfer stuff to another characters before. Usually after a shard transfer and I have a bunch of stuff to haul home.

I've got something screwy going on with uo. If I take it out of full screen mode two of the tabs at the top right don't work properly. The minimize and maximize are backwards. If I hit maximize instead of changing the size of the window it minimizes it to the toolbar. To bring the gameplay window back to a full screen I have to double click the minimize button. This is only happening with uo . Windows edge / Google / and everything else works the proper way.

@Merlin I am running W10 on my main computer and 2 laptops, I am running SSD's on all of them, also, the very first thing you "must" do on W10 is uninstall 90% of the Crap that comes with, all those "App" will drain your computer if you dont remove them, than after everything is running smooth, you must turn off , all the "auto update" feature... This is just "my" opinion , but I Think Windows 10 is by far the best Windows ever... but you need to have a really nice setup, nowadays I think 32GB Ram and I7 processor is a must, also, I tested a lot of video cards and I dont use dual cards or SLI, i just have 1 nice Video card that can handle 6 monitors (EYEFINIT)

You guys have it easy. Every time I minimize the UO client it crashes lol. I'll look into it when I feel like working on it. The most annoying thing is the Logitech keyboard volume control drives windows insane. On the G510S there's a known bug where if you use the volume control there's a beeping sound and the screen flashes like crazy. Logitech has known about it for a long time. Logitech blames Microsoft and Microsoft blames Logitech. No one appears to be doing anything about it. The work around is to download a 3rd party program and load a script into it. So I said ok and went to download the program from the programs creator and my virus scanner went nuts and threw the program into the virus chest. *sigh* If I use the volume control really slow sometimes it doesn't go crazy lol

That sounds like it to me! Will certainly check it out right now! Maybe we need a Windows 10 sticky at the top. You know these things are going to keep being brought up over and over. Many thanks!

Yes! Awesome! Well done! Well alt tab worked once and then wouldn't do it again lol. Maybe after I restart the computer. But the Windows key worked over and over so that works good enough for now. TYVM! Nice to not have it crash when I minimize to manually change the volume I'm wondering if it would have any effect on all this stuff if I used the Windows option to run the UO client like Windows 7?

I have an SSD w/ and i7 as well, which is why I found it odd that even the boot-up time had becoming significantly worse on W10. I'm a Microsoft guy so I always try to support their products, so it pained me to have to roll back. Especially because I also liked the return of the traditional start button instead of the page full of tiles. All in all though, they just need some more time to work out the bugs and I wasn't prepared to deal with the inconvenience of having to potentially get stuck with something I wasn't a huge fan of since you can't roll back if you have it for more than a month. I will reconsider later in the fall or winter once some more data is available on it's overall performance.

Yeah I have an I7, just standard hard drives. But 10 is slower than 7 on a lot of things. Especially opening a new program. 8 seconds?! I ain't got 8 seconds! lol But yeah... I noticed my new Windows 10 puter came with "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" but I haven't installed it yet till I study up on it. But that's suppose to help a lot with this issue. I just assume 10 would happen to me sooner or later so I decided to just bite the bullet and start working it out. Of course the longer you wait it's more time for everyone else to work out the issues for ya But in general I don't see any reason to rush into 10, at least while the free promotion is still going. Unless there's some dire need for DirectX 12. Which I don't see happening for awhile.

Well it's a nice option we had before. And you can do your thing with 16 clients and 6 screens or whatever but I think you may be the exception and not the rule I like full screen with one client and would like to minimize it at times. What you doing sounds like a job lol

I'd share pics of my setup, but would hafta kill everyone...

What I've noticed about W10 - your games have to be in window mode, not true full-screen. Keep everything to window mode and just max up the window size to your monitor (or however big you want it), then alt-tab will work just fine.

What I'm noticing in full screen mode with alt tab is that it considers uo assist and vent as a window. If you hold down alt tab you can watch it switch between your 2 games vent and assist. If you jack with it long enough you can get it to switch between the 2 accounts. The first time you have to look something up you gotta do it all over again. One time it took me almost 5 min to get it to switch between the 2 I wanted.
