Question, 2 chars same name issue

I had a character with one name on a shard, then transfered another character with the same name, just all caps, to the same shard. My macros are acting as the same for both characters. Is there an easy way to fix this instead of buying a character name change token?

Not to my knowledge, i have 2 chars w the same name as does my guild leader, we both have the same issue.

If they are on the same account, they will use the same exact settings including macros.

I had this problem as well. If you go to the folder where your character settings are (not at my pc now so I cant help here), you will find a folder for each shard and then each character. Copy the folder with your character name and add something like -necro to the end of the copy. Then go in game and set macros as you wish with the other char (the non necro one in this example). Log out and go back to your folders and make another copy renaming it as well. Now you can just overwrite the original folder with a copy appropriate folder before you log in and your macros will be correct. Just have to remember to repeat this when you make changes.

the UO stuff will be the same for both (or all 5 if all toons on that shard have the same name)

the desktop, skills list and in game macros.

so ya that sucks, BUT, if you use UOassist you can hit the options button when ya first load it, and hit the save as a number instead of save by name, and then all your uoassist macros will be individual for each toon.

i had the same problem years ago.

i ended up name changing the conflicts just cause it was so annoying.

You can also occasionally pick up settings for a char you deleted if you ever create one with the same name.

Well the procedure I mentioned really fixed it for me. All macros and other desktop settings are preserved, and it works for ec also. Its a pain if you constantly switch between the two characters though.

set up a second set of macros, and when logging in to keep them separate, put a space at the end to play the first one with the same name, the second one with the same name no space and it will use the old macros
