[Macefighting] PvP template/tactics adjustment for mace vs bladed???

Thought I'd shoot for an ambiguous title:loser:

Anyways, I'm trying to scrape up a faction warrior on my second account and I have 120 mace available along with 120 bush.

I've tried searching under mace and macing with and without template with no real good results... most results were dealing with sampires, whammies, ABC archers:coco:

I've seen most of the PvP templates for dexers but I'm curious if there is any adjustments needed in either template, equipment, or tactics(not the UO skill but the player ability) to take into account a mace weapon.

Standard basic dexer template seems something along the lines of:
120 weapon
120 Parry
120 Bush
90 tactics
90 anatomy
90 Healing

with roughly 90 left over for a support skill.

Obviously the faction armor open up a huge range of mods.

So with all that said, for those who play macers and understand standard dexer techniques, do you feel you use your macer the same?

I would say macing is more or less the same. The only notable difference is in the stats. My fencer obviously does not need as much dex as my macer does. Aside from that it seems more or less like I play them the same way.

I frankly think they are all about the same. I would agree with the other poster and say you can get away with less dexterity using a fencing type of setup. Me personally that is what I do due to several different templates that I use.

...

The style is more in the template...not the weapon. Especially given that most folks only use one or two weapons. Kinda lame in my opinion...but oh well. Style and deception are key. The opposition can't do much if they're left confused.

It really depends.. If you are going as a 4/6 chivver for holy lights, you're going to want more mana.. I would go fencing because there are many weapons where you can swing at cap with lower dex.

I personally prefer macing because of how hard the weapons hit. But you also need more dex/stam to keep them swinging as fast as the quicker fencing weps.

IMO the best wep combo out there is the war axe and mace.

Thanks for the input. I wasn't sure how much weapon choice really effected template/playing techniques within PvP.

The reason I was looking at macing is a training issue. I HATE trying to train weapon skills(weapon and tactic):danceb:

Go figure, the one account has all the warrior type skills on it got a mage put into factions:coco::dunce:

Obviously, use best weapon mod can make the whole point moot. But it is always harder to find an above average weapon with UBWS:coco:

I wasn't really considering chiv but I may. Now time to look further into templates.:next:

The greater difficulty with some people is having the REAL weapon skill since evasion for example won't work if you aren't using the real weapon skill of at least 50 combined with 50 bushido.

Depends on the mods...I don't have too great of difficulty having UBWS weapons to mix into my templates.
