PvP Skills

Regarding PvP;

Can anyone give me an update on these skills? Or provide me a link to some place that can give me a briefing of pvp and the last couple years of UO?

Concerning mage pvp:

Chivalry? This still a cheap way to live through anything? Back in the day cleanse by fire could cure anything uber fast and remove curse was very handy. Those 2 spells were almost enough to take this skill 100+

Poisoning? Infecting strike would cause this to be lethal poison and if you had trouble curing could cause problems very fast. There was some formula on the requirements to hit LP 100% of the time, but cannot remember. Also, if LP and you were unprepared regular cure was very risky and your only option was the longer casting archcure. Granted even back then, someone prepared with orange petals and pots could easily counter it.... it was vicious to someone unprepared. This still hold true?

Inscription? 10% bonus wasn't worth it for field pvp, but was amazing in duels.... same now?

fencing/mace/swords? Special abilites were crucial back then. If you got off a bleed with poison or strangulate. You could cause a lot of trouble. Although I remember seeing something about EA changing the toggling of special abilites.... I'm not quite sure what happened.

I have a million and a half questions still, but I'll start from there for now.

I'll take a stab at this.

"Chivalry? This still a cheap way to live through anything? Back in the day cleanse by fire could cure anything uber fast and remove curse was very handy. Those 2 spells were almost enough to take this skill 100+"

Yea 4/6 chivalry is still very viable, the right timing and other skills can make you enar invincable if you know how to use it, and can get a nice streak of hits, but is less prefered these days because the offensive power isn't all there.

Still exactly the same against the unprepared, but everyone uses cure pots now, so it is just about pointless.

I really only play pure mages, and the difference between scribe and non scribe is pretty noticable to me. 15 sdi cap, 150 int, and scribe is pretty lethal, but on paper it doesn't look as inviting. from what i';ve found, a scribe mage can handle a necro mage, a spellweaving mage, or other combinations perfectly fine and is fine against dexers, because wrestling is much better than a mage weap.

Hope this helps some

idk my guild i used to run on atlantic was pretty sick.. we would run 2-3 v 7+ and we would run necro/scribe mages.. its not easy to live with three expl fs evil omens and other stuff right behind it lol. so i would say scribe is worth the skill imo. all my mages i have run that in there temp.

Hey guys, yes, exactly the info I was looking for.

Can anyone comment on Parrying?

And how about anat/eval vs. weaponskill vs. wrestling vs. staff of the magi

I don't know if this still holds true but:

Staff of the magi lets you pick another skill up, but you lose the offensive potential of special abilities

I'm not seeing how wrestling would be better than a weaponskill, im assuming only cause you have a free hand for pots, but I fail to see how that makes a huge difference, help?

anat/eval is only better if you really really need to squeeze out an extra 20 skill points. Sacrificing special moves.

Wrestling is better than a "mage weapon" like the staff of the magi, dont ask me why, but i definitly get hit less with wrestling vs. mage weapon withs ame dci.
