PVP From ship to ship

Does anyone know if we can use archery to shoot other player from and to the new ships?Or do we need to shoot them with the cannons and board them before we can PVP?

Yes, you can fight ship to ship. When fighting the npc pirates you can fire at the orcs on board before you board the ship itself. You will need to use cannons to scuttle the ship and board it though.
There's nothing to prevent a running battle lasting quite a while, especially if you have a hold full of supplies to make repairs to your ship.

Just be sure to hurry and scuttle the orc ship after you kill the crew! I gated home to get materials for repairs, so I could move close enough to get the one last shot needed to disable the ship, and as I was about to finish, the ship, with no crew, sailed away.

Yeah, that patch wasn't available at the time.

Wasted alot of valuable ammunition with no reward...
