Kyronix & Bleak
Mob Difficulty & Minor Loot Change (without increasing HP/Resistances (much))
Pre AoS When Chaos Dragoon Elites were first introduced they use to have a magical weapon in their hand, when they died it was in their loot... How come monsters & npcs that use equipment use plain non-exceptional non-magical items, when they carry magical loot on them?
for example: Executioners always have an Executioner's Axe equipped - Why not allow these axes to have properties on them? It would increase difficulty slightly to moderately depending on the quality of the item in-hand as well as the randomness in stats the npc spawns with.
There are several mobs that carry weapons too, like Ogre Lords carry a Club & Orc Brutes use to carry a War Mace, & gargoyle destroyers use to carry a Large Battle Axe etc etc.
Loot Change -
As it stands you really can get literally any combination of properties from just about everything, (this isn't how it should beIMO(, it makes people farm the same mobs over and over, leaving the rest of the areas mostly neglected.
I couldn't help but notice that it's incredibly hard to get a "good" slayer weapon (pvm) as loot from a corpse that could even come close to competing with an imbued weapon... such is not the case with armor.
Then I also remembered back (pre-aos again...) you use to get slayer weapons from opposing slayer groups, Not sure why that changed, it was simple, it worked well and it should be changed back.
This is how it used to work:
Silver (now Undead Slayer) dropped from Any monster type. (should come from Humanoids (repond)
Repond: came from Undead mobs.
Elemental Slayer: came from Demons/Gargoyles.
Demon Slayer: came from Elementals
Arachnid Slayer: came from Reptiles
Reptile Slayer: came from Arachnids
Fey Slayer didn't exist back then, However Fey is also an opposing slayer to Demons if there are any plans to make "Fey Slayer" weapons drop as loot in the future Demons should be what drops them.
Monsters that aren't vulnerable to any of these slayer types shouldn't be able to drop slayer weapons at all.
(Fed Plague Beasts use to drop a bunch of random slayer type weapons when you fed them enough mobs before you killed them), maybe these would be an exception.
Some mob groups should just have higher drop-rates for certain items in general, so that there's more of a reason to hunt one thing over something else IF you're trying for a specific item slot.
For Examples: Rings could have a higher drop-rate on Meer and Bracelets a higher drop-rate on Juka's.
The following was from another thread
It would also be great if there was a way to allow people to become "Blackrock Infected" again, maybe have a different type if item to drop in-place of blackrock boxes from infected mobs though, to preserve the rarity of the oldschool blackrock boxes.
Thoughts?
