Animal form isn't as bad as smokebombs which are just ridiculous. But purge magic removing animal form would be fine by me...

I have 0 problem with stealthing, ninjitsu etc. but smoke bombs. Guy is standing 2 tiles from you dropping spells or shooting arrows at you and SHHHH the guys is gone. C'mon...

Purge magic pulls people outta other forms like wraith. There's no reason it shouldn't work for animal forms as well. This change was really dumb and only benefits the runners.

exactly... IF mount isn't killed after you get dismounted. zero defense against dismount if animal form is purged by magic.

Here is the other problem, and the one that usually comes up. I get dismounted by a stealther. The DP my horse. I then commence beating the crap out of them and they either smoke bomb or run away. If I could purge them out of form and at least keep them on my screen I could at least kill them.

BTW it wouldnt be a big deal and they had resist. I couldnt purge them out if they have resist (at least not everytime)

good points. doesn't there need to be some sort of distance or wall to make smoke bombs work ?

1) Make purging someone out of Animal Form a Resist Check (no success vs 120 resist).... Resist / Ninjitsu chars get animal form as a valid non-purgable method of escape & non-resist chars only suffer vs Mystics.. (or perahps they can still smokebomb...)

2) Smokebombs Should have some sort of Mana Requirement..... 5? 10 ? something at least... thus Manavamp gives you a chance at killing them before they can run or hide... (how long does 5 mana take to regen etc... ?)

Smokebomb does have a mana requirement. Mana vamp on a no resist toon and they can't smokebomb. It also shares the skill check along with hiding, so if you try to hide and fail, you cannot smoke bomb for 10 sec.

I never said anything about a no success @ 120 resist. Lower it fine, but always a chance.

Wrong. If you have resisting spells (YOU DO RIGHT?) then you have no worries about being purged out of form. It needs to be set back to how it was. Purge (like someone else said) removes EVERY OTHER FORM IN THE GAME except ANIMAL FORM. Why? rolleyes:

But yea; 120 Resist = LOW Purge Rate as is for EVERYTHING. So; if you have resist; you are fine.
