Well, in regards to the annonced Britannia Ship which will be available by either monetary purchase or through Library Collection, I have one concern.
It has not been mentioned how much real money it will cost.
Regardless, we are talking about spending people's real money to buy a game item.
This said, I would like to know whether, since it will cost real money, this Britannia Ship will be a non-decay item (regular ships decay...).
I mean, personally I would find it unfortunate and not good for UO to have players get upset because they spent real money on the new ship only to see it go "poof" because of decay, whatever the reasons.
Perhaps the purchaseable version of the Britannia Ship can be made non-decayable while the one obtainable through Library Collections will remain decayable ?
This could also work as an incentive to players to purchase it thus ensuring more revenues to UO.
Just a thought.
As in regards to the announced 13th Year Veteran Reward, I have to say that I am rather disappointed to hear that accounts that remained active for 13 long years will receive yet another rideable....
It may look as cool as one wants, but it still is just another rideable...
Unless it is a special mount that has some unique specialities (which I doubt, though having a mount that could rez the owner in case of death would be a cool addition, for example...or a special mount that counts for 0 slots followers could come handy....or perhaps a Pegasus Winged Horse that can fly over terrain obstacles), personally I find it disappointing that accounts that old are given as a veteran Reward just another pretty much ordinary mount.
So, if it is just another pretty much ordinary mount, regardless its looks, this will meet my disappointment.
If instead this rideable will also bring some unique specialties like for example be capable of ressing the owner or count as 0 followers slots or some other usefull unique ability like a Pegasus Winged Horse that can fly over terrain obstacles, then I will see it as a valuable and worthy addition to appraise and value customers who have been loyal to Ultima Online for 13, long years.
NOTE. Just read Pub 69 notes and saw that the 13th Year Veteran Reward is referred to as a "new rideable Armored Boura.".
Does "armored" mean that it provides defense to the owner ?
If so, what defense bonus does it add ?
Of course, it should be considerably better that what an armored swamp dragon adds because if it was the same or little above, who'd waste a 13th Year Vet pick to get moreless the same defense bonus that a swampie can give ?
Is it also a 0 followers' slot mount ?
This could make it a bit more valuable and considerable as a worthy 13th Year veteran pick......
