During Halloween I like to go to the fields and hunt for the items there, you might have seen my character Hex hanging around.
I only did it a bit when the pumpkins with staff names spawned, got more into it when they spawned with players names trying to collect them for all my characters, and then the carved jack o'lanterns with players names and people worked together dropping off other people's at a house on Umbra road for the owner to find later; and now the masks.
Sometimes you get the 'mine, gimme gimme, I want' types who don't care if someone else is there, they just want the item and butt in. On Tuesday I recalled to a field in Brit and saw a guy already there, so I recalled to another field in Brit. I saw two carved pumpkins and noone in the field, so I picked one and started to kill the killer pumpkin - in runs the guy I left in the previous field, he ignores the carved pumpkin and starts to flamestrike the one I'm killing. I get a bit annoyed so when he picks the other, I start to attack that one .. at that point I think if he can attack what I kill, I can attack what he is.
I've warned friends about this guy, one friend said they had already seen him and he had done the same to my friend. Another friend came back to me and said they saw the person I had warned them about and they did it to them too.
Last night I was accused of being the bad guy.
I recalled to the field in Cove, a few seconds later someone else recalled in and started to have a go at me, I tried to explain that if I recall to a field and someone else is there I leave them alone and recall to the next, but the person seemed too irate and not interested in listening - with that and the fu I lost interest in what they were saying, and because I was tired and had a stranger trying to bite my head off I got wound up and decided to wind them up a bit more and gave him a 'buh bye' before he recalled away and a *waves* over general chat, which I think worked because they recalled back in and had another go at me. If your reading this mystery pumpkin picker, I apologise for my attitude.
I think they were saying I was a bad person because they clear the fields and I don't, I'm guessing they haven't seen me clearing and assume, wrongly, that I never do.
Anyway, I got thinking about etiquette while in the fields looking for pumpkins and remembered reading a thread years ago about dungeon etiquette, so decided to post this discussion and see what other's think is good and bad etiquette in the fields and any do's and don'ts.
I have two methods for pumpkin hunting; clearing and a quick recall through the fields, which I do depends mostly on how much time I have. The reason I use Hex for pumpkins is that I don't have much trouble killing the spawn and he is my necro mage weaver, the only character I have with enough necro and spirit speak to summon a horde minion to clear the fields.
If I have alot of time and I feel like it, I clear the field. I stick to one field and clear, summon a horde minion to pick up the pumpkins, then release the minion to delete them to speed up the respawn. I rarely recall between fields clearing, normally I stick to one field and clear it. I've cleared fields on my own, and with friends - taking turns killing the killer pumpkins. When I've had enough of clearing or I need to logoff, I have a quick recall around the fields for any carved pumpkins with noone else around.
If I don't have alot of time or I'm not in the mood for clearing, I just recall to each field. If someone is already there, I leave and goto the next field - unless its a friend then I stay and chat for a bit.
If I recall to a field and noone is there, then I look for carved pumpkins with names I am collecting - no, I am not collecting all names and masks which I know some people do, I don't have the room and most names mean nothing to me.

- Mesanna, I think most people want her masks, something with Mesannas name usually gets a crowd.
- EM Adris and EM Emile Layne, theres been some complaints lately about the event and items, but I usually have fun at the events the worse things are the spam and lag. I have the old masks for Emile and Sarakan and want to complete the set with the new masks and new EM.
- GrimmOmen, I have a set from last year, and I'm hoping the two new masks spawn with his name on, but I haven't seen any so far.
- Kyronix and Bleak, I recognise these names becuase they seem to post the most and I like it when the devs communicate. I'm also looking for Logrus, but haven't seen any of those same as last year.
- Phoenix and Gryphon, because I like the names.
