Publish 51: Archcure will now flag you criminal if used next to criminal targets

I knew there wasn't any bug with this spell. They have completely messed it up.

If you cast Arch Cure and a monster, murderer or criminal is within range and poisoned, you will flag criminal from curing them. Prior to this change, Archcure would only cure blues unless you specifically targeted the criminal and would still only affect that single monster, criminal or murderer.

Didn't a single person catch this on Test Center or Origin?

you should.

its called "arch cure" as in area. cures all the people in target area.

thats how the spell was suppose to be, its just taken almost 11 yrs to get it right.

Hmm, it should NOT automatically target Murderers or Grey Players UNLESS the caster themselves are Murderers or a Grey Player.

Arch Spells:

• If you're Blue, it should ONLY auto-target Blue Players.

• If you're in a Guild, it should only auto-target Blue & Guild/Alliance Members (and only Murderers or Grey Players IF the Guildy Casting it is ALSO a Murderer or flagged as "Grey").

• If you're in a Faction, it should only work as as described above as the situation details.

• If you're a Murderer or Grey, it should auto-target all players regardless of Criminality. (Edit: If the Criminal casting it begun Casting it While they were still flagged as a Criminal, there should be a 3 second grace period so that it won't bug up and re-flag them a criminal when the spell executes, if that makes sense.)

Just my opinions.

This is true... as long as friendly fire stays out of the game. They should get rid of all the wonky flagging rules. Area spells should effect an area.

I agree, even though it would be more useful if it only cured who you wanted it to, i think it is fair and realistic if you are casting it around poisoned criminals for it to flag you.

Is Archcure currently the preferred method of curing poison, as opposed to drinking potions? (Or Cleanse by Fire for those with Chiv?) (I'd be kinda surprised if it were in PvP, because up until the last publish, it had MASSIVE flagging issues.)

Zole, I'm trying to confirm this, but we fixed all the flagging bugs with Archcure too - I just need to make 100% sure they went into this patch.

E. Jeremy Dalberg

[/ QUOTE ]

So I think;
- Flagging bug had been existing before the publish
- They changed Arch Cure and fixed the flagging bug at the same time at first in publish 51
- But they reverted this change according to our feedbacks
- The fix for flagging bug was not implemented as well
- So we wish them to fix the flagging bug

If Arch Cure is used in PvP and can target opponents... Has anyone tried casting Arch Protection to cause opponents to suffer -14% Phys Dmg, -34% Resist, and 0 FC?

That seems an interesting

arch protection only works for people in the same party.

Friendly fire would make the game much more fun, and much more skilled. The only people that would whine about that change would be the players in zerg guilds.

Sweet!

So if I'm on my red stealther and see a blue casting "Vas An Nox", I can drink a lesser poison pot.

The blue cures my poison AND he flags grey?

Sweet!

*Rushes out to get some lesser poison pots*

You realize this has been around for quite some time? The only new part is that pets now cure them.

Guildmate of mine would flag poison himself when he saw someone fighting a dper and using arch cure. When he would cast it he would run next to him flagged and poisoned and it cured him and flagged the guy. This is not a new thing its been around for a while.

Just one of the many flagging bugs that are around and have been for ages.

Good!!! It's an area of affect spell and SHOULD affect friend and/or foe. All fields and area affect spells should do this. A spell has no way to determine friend or foe, only the caster can do that.

This is simply not possible. We cast Archcure around our reds all the time who are poisoned and never flag criminal. This has definitely been changed in this publish. There was no flagging bug, they thought there was and switched it to work this way.

No, that makes sence...

If a blue casts a negitive field spell, the game will stop him from flagging.
So it only makes sence that if he casts a positive spell, it would TRY to flag him.

Helping is BAD. You deserve to be criminal.

Attacking criminals is GOOD. Kill yourself now that your a criminal.

</sarcasm>

Leu, leave it as it is. It's the right thing to do. We really need to have all area affect and field spells affect friend or foe alike.

It does not make sense because criminals and murderers do not get resurrected when using Noble Sacrifice. The point here isn't you should not flag for curing a poisoned criminal, the Archcure spell should not be affecting them at all when not directly targetted.

chivalry and noble sacrifice shouldn't be able to res reds (just for rp sake I guess), that's why they made it that way when they put it into the game.

However, I think this change should be left in, and they should keep heading in this direction.

All area/field spells should have appropriate consequences/ramifications.

They have been misused & abused for way too long.

And the fact that there is no negative/mechanical impact if they were to be finally fixed makes it just plain silly that they have been allowed to be abused for so long.

You wanna cast arch cure? you better be damn careful about where you cast it.

You wanna just be a griefer and lay down mass energy fields? You should face the consequences.

Spawns can and should be fought without being 93% decided by who lays down the better fields.

But Arch Cure is mostly used for curing yourself, not group curing. It was changed to be "Greater Cure" without the accompanying name change. It would be better just to remove the area effect if this is going to happen.

For sure it is a problem when you have to use arch cure on yourself as opposed to just the regular cure spell.
But that should be addressed in and of itself without adding to field/arch/grief issues that also need to be fixed separately & at once.

No matter what template you choose to play you should not be subject to the numerous field/grief tactics being used by all types/sizes of guilds and gank squads.
It is damn hard enough to survive when outnumbered. It shouldnt be made ALOT harder by the abuse of fields.

THANK YOU for clearing my mysterious demise up!!!!

I got guard-whacked at the Yew gate last night when I stopped by to chat with a friend. I hadn't done anything criminal that I knew of.. I only had two bars up on my screen to toss the occasional cure or heal on.

Next thing I know I'm grey.. and then insta-dead. I had been throwing Arch-cures around, cause some of the incoming blue folks were deadly or lethally poisoned.

Least now I know what happened! (If I'd been playing a thief and picking pockets, then I'd have expected to have guard wrath rain down on me!)

Well I hope it's not changed to where it was as before. Where you couldn't xcure a red guildmate with a targeted arch cure

Look, it should cure all, and make you red.

Stop pvping on your blue and hiding in guard zone.

Thats the only issue, people want to abuse the guard zone/house.

Come to fel and fight, stop crying about what flags you. shouldn't be any flagging period, when you walk into fel you should be fair game! har!
