Protected from Demons?

I just purchased a new account yesterday. One of the characters (a wrestle/scribe/mage) was red at one time, so I decided to work his karma up in the fan dancer dojo.

When I arrived at the demon room in the dojo, I dropped a couple EVs by some demons. Oddly, the EVs wouldn't attack the demons. I dispelled the EVs and summoned an earth elly instead, telling it to "kill" and targeting the demon. To my surprise, the elly refused to attack and I got a message saying, "You can not force your pet to attack a creature you are protected from." I released the earth elly and stood by the two demons. They wouldn't go agro on me, no matter how much I ran around. I killed them with spells and two new demons appeared. They wouldn't agro me, either. Frustrated, I recalled to the demon temple. Same story there.

Anyone know what's going on? Other creatures will flag me, but not demons. Can't figure out why! See a screenie below.

umm cause your characer is in sl faction..

Hmm...can't be that. I personally guilded this character into UWF, which has no alliance or faction affiliation. Had he a faction affiliation, I would not have been able to invite him.

Anything else might cause this?

just check it say (punkte) over his head and see if anything happens.. also ive had characters that leave a faction but stay in the faction guild and still have protection from the faction momsters, i think this was fixed though but i had it happen maybe a week ago.

Last night, I tried again in tok (fan dancers), tram (demon temple), and Ilsh (blood dungeon). Same story. No one can seem to figure it out. It's kinda annoying, because my EVs won't target them.

Also, I looked on uo character search. No faction.

Weird.

Still can't figure out why my EVs/summons won't attack demons and demons won't target me. No faction affiliation, no honor, same story across all facets.

No more ideas?

only thing i can think of , maybe the account trasfer bugged out the faction thing?

Ty, Avenhar. I'm afraid it might come to this, as no one seems to know what's going on...though, truthfully, what could a GM really do about it? Hate to bug them for no reason.

Wonder what would happen if you left the guild, put the char back into shadowlords, then left factions again. Maybe something got stuck sorta like when your buff bar keeps showing that your weakened or health bar keeps showing that your poisoned.

I have had a char with evil omen stuck on it the GM showed up took me to fell beat me up and unbugged my char... was funny hehe
