problems with password and registration

ok, this is a letter im trying to send to playonline chat for help, but have to wait, can anyone help me in the meantime even?...

i downloaded the free trial of ffxl from playonline.com, however i cannot find the way to find a lost password that i may of had or my client ID.
Do i also need to buy the game for a registration code to play, as i am prompted for one.

i dont know what to do, i am at a loss at the moment, please help if you can.

question priorities:
-is there a way to find out what my password is, or make a new one
-what do i do about registration code, (do i use a 'guest login' once i have playonline info?)

Sorry you're not getting an answer to this. I have no idea how you get a registration code if you downloaded the trial. I had a buddy pass when I started, which came with its own code. Hopefully someone will come around that knows more.

thanks trish, well i decided to just get the game, cos i know ikll like it. my only major concern is to be on top of my time when i am on the game and not. got an animation, game and film career to think about. if i ever seem too desperate while playing, just shout at me or something

ps, you may like a film called 'the gamers:dorkness rising' (sequel), its an amatuer on veoh, but its about role players, and after you get pastt he opening credits i was laughing the whole way. (thought id give you a little gift as a way of saying hi).

ppppppps when people gte into the game and its rolling, do people end up getting lots of extra jobs to pay for the monthly subscriptions? i mean you think its a decent price, or too much? im saying this simply cos im used to many free mmorpgs, but thought id play ffxi at last seeing as im not gonna get a console for ffxiii, (i wonder if they would out it on pc now i think of it...?)

Ahh that's the good thing about this game. Your one character can be any and every job it wants to be. You start out with the six basic jobs to work with (Warrior, Thief, White Mage, Red Mage, Black Mage, Monk). Once you get to 20, you can do quests to unlock the advanced jobs. Some don't require other expansions (Paladin, Dark Knight, Bard, Summoner, Beastmaster, Ranger) and some that do (Samurai, Ninja, Dragoon, Blue Mage, Corsair, Puppetmaster, Dancer, Scholar). There are some who, over the last 6 years, have finished all jobs. The problem you will encounter is the lack of storage space for gear if you work too many, and THAT is where you will want to buy extra characters; simply for storage. lol

Trish brings up a good point, especially considering Artifact Armor (special level 52 to 60 gear you can get with each job...some is good, some is not so good), as well as other armor pieces.

If I might add, the before-mentioned armor sets can be stored with Armor Storer NPC's when not in use.

thanks guys, some inspiring words there, and useful.
i think ill try a bit of everythihng, as is my way, and choose witht he feel of it who i want to be in the game, you know?
im trying to arrange a partner friend i know to go with me into the game, cos well, sometimes its good to get away and be good at nothing at all, and well- role play.
just make sure i dont get lost out of myself heh, i got happyness too ^_^
i wonder if ill bother lvling in this game a lot or just talk to people and travel everywhere like ive done in the past.

i hear no one seems to be on the same server in the forum vaguely? is there one thats fairly low populated, whats the oldest server? there must be some nice things in the old ones yes?

That's a good idea. What I wish i had done is worked every job I could with, say, the Bronze gear set, up to level 7, then did the same for the leather set up to whatever level til the scale set, and etc. I actually DID do this, after I got all the jobs unlocked and after I had two level 75 jobs. I was farming beastmen seals (don't throw those away, no matter how much space it appears they're taking!!) but I got a good feel for the beginnings of many jobs I hadn't tried yet.

I enjoy crafting and events much more than I enjoy partying. MUCH more. Which is why I have lots of crafting skill under my belt, really good gear, but only two 75 jobs. lol.. The beauty of this game is you can do pretty much whatever you want. There's no "beating" it, there's just enjoying it. I love just exploring too. There are some beautiful maps on this game.

Beings as I've only been playing for a year and a half, I don't really know the history of the servers. There's a nice balance of Japanese and US players on my server, which leads me to believe it's an older one.

The server populations for the most part are split pretty evenly. This article gives some information on approximately how many there are per server. Tanaka puts the number around 15 to 20,000 unique users per world.
