I'm going to tell you what it probably is. You can't upgrade it in the game. You have to go to the main account site and put the code in there, even though it looks like a code you can use in game. It will tell you that on the thing you received in email it if you look closely.
They told me to page a gm, who told me he couldn't help me. But, it was my fault anyway. I hope this helps you.
