problem clearing house design & moving crate

I decided to change my house design, after seeing what amazing things that have been done by the posts on this forum.
My problem is I cleared my old design, but my things didn't go into the moving crate. I had a 3 story design and now my stuff is way up in the air.
Help! How do I get it down. Thanks for any help.

It used to be that when you would go into customize mode, everything would go into the crate. Then players would get upset because they would want to change one little thing without having to redo all their deco, so the devs changed it.

Now what you can do is either unlock everything manually and move it, unlock everything, go into custom mode, and that will shove everything that is unlocked under the house sign (only a good option if you live out in BFE or your stuff isn't valuable), or you can place a wall tile on every single tile of your plot (or wherever an item is) and commit the plot. When you do that everything will get shoved into the crate. You'll have to do that for each floor to get the floating items. Good luck!

I usually do my design planning on TC. When I have a design I like, I figure out any objects in my current deco that will need to be moved/removed to accomodate a new design, and shift them before I build, either by placing them where I expect they should be in the new design, or throwing an entire room's worth of deco into a few chests and locking them down where I know they'll be accessible later. That way, I can go into customize mode and not have to worry about whether or not I forgot a flower on the top floor! :) It also reduces the amount of moving I have to do to get my new design deco'd, since it won't have to be hauled out of the moving crate and re-sorted.

Good luck with your new design and hope you share it when you're done!
