not much unfortunately.

the mods you want are hit spell (lightning, fireball or harm) instead of area and hit lower defense instead of hit lower attack
Hit area is generally not desirable for pvp

If those two mods were hit fireball and hit lower defense you would have had a decent weapon.

maces are ok, but not as popular as bokutos, bone harvesters, and pick axes
