Anyone wanting to check if their posts were recovered, do a search for
imported_username.

You can then email [email protected] and get your current user name and previous one merged.

My user name did not change, and the only posts that show up for me in search are the ones I made on the new forums.

Since none of our old forums have actually shown up in the indexes, I am guessing none of the old content is visible yet.

unfortunately not all user names were recovered. Mine wasn't, if you check Spree's 'For Aeowyn' thread you'll see the old one has been imported, but any posts I made on it prior to the crash show as 'guest'
Should be one with a picture of a leopard saying 'RoC applies to lolcats too' if I remember right.

Well,I went to the advanced search and typed in my name. Only saw posts made on the temp forums and was sad. I thought most posts weren't recovered. Then I remembered that I used Hannah Hellfire on other forums. (d'oh!). I really need more coffee! I searched for Hannah Hellfire and it looks like most, if not all, were recovered.

send off the email and you'll be able to get them merged, with whichever user name you want to use.

Looks like at least some of my old posts show up in some recovered threads as "guest"...I did a search for user name Wulf2K as I knew if any of Wulf's stuff survived, it was likely to be in threads I had also posted in...and I was correct. I see posts that I made, but they are with the user name "guest".

I emailed forum help with my previous and current account names and email, but I forgot to tell them which username I wanted to use! What other information do I need to include in order to have my posts successfully merged?

Hmmm...as far as I could tell, Rico's old forum posts show up as made by "Guest" the same as mine, and many others who did not have their posts recovered & merged.

The only reason my post count on the new user name shows as 9K+, is that the forum admin put back what I could remember as the last major milestone for my post count before the forums died - which was 9K. Amazingly, I still had my original forum registration confirmation email from years back on my old comp, so I was able to give my exact registration date.

However, that is no reason to restrain from to Rico.
