Powerscrolls for pets!

How about we get powerscrolls for pets. This would be cool for beefing up older tameables, and newer ones.

I'd like to see all champspawns drop them; fel spawns dropping 120s, and Tram champs up to 115s. Maybe even Stat Scrolls for them to.

Could make the scrolls orange in color.

Thoughts?

would be awesome, esp with my 120 skilled rat pack :)

even without changing the color could work ;)

if we could have a custom pet where we can choose the skill this ps system would be much much better :D

They have to come up with a skill and stat cap system for each pet. Some pets (e.g. greater dragon) may have certain skills higher than 120.

No....really no.

Think about it. You are going to have to go out and get scrolls for every skill you want boosted x every pet you want to boost up. And every subsequent pet. And you'll want specific scrolls, so add in all the champs where you don't get what you need. You guys really like doing the same spawns repeatedly to that extent? Honestly? I can't imagine anything more monotonous and boring. Even when you count what passes for PvP these days.

As opposed to requesting that the devs boost up pets in a modest way involving interesting special attacks and just something more satisfying than grinding spawns for bits of paper.

I really don't understand why some of you want to make this extra work for yourselves, when there are much simpler options instead.

And who will teach pets to read? :D

Not to mention the time it'll take to code scrolls to work for pets and then balance out the results. And boy will it need balancing.

I don't think anyone will argue that some pets need a little love. But this just isn't the way to go about it.

I think it would be interesting to add a "breeding" option to pets, while adding a possible 4th skill to the tamer template. Maybe base it upon the chocobo breeding side-game in FF7.

How about we get a talisman that gives 1,000+ hps to my non-tamer.
Well, who cares? I mean, i don't play a warrior, if they make 5000 hp warriors it doesn't change a bit for me. You can even have the stats of the slasher if you want.

There is a simpler solution: unbreak pet stats and skills.

There is a reason that every pet in existence maxes out their dex/stamina at 125. When they increased the stat caps for player characters, they broke it for pets so that they could not gain above 125 in any stat. (If a pet has a stat above 125 at taming, it simply means that the stat will just never move.)

Training a pet up to the "at taming" level of stats and skills worked long ago just as it does now. However, back then, once you hit that limit, the pet would continue to gain beyond that up to the maximum stat and skill levels for their tameable creature type. However, this went extremely slowly. As in, it would take years and years and years of continual use for the pet to achieve maximum stats and skills.

...They just need to bring that back. Problem solved.

Pet Power Scrolls wouldn't be such a bad idea... (they'd have to drop in fel only though)

I say Pets "Fire breath" Damage (Dreadmare,Greater Dragon, & Bane Dragons) be capped at 35 dmg (like AI) for pvp.

I would consider playing my tamer for pvm again, If they added pet scrolls maybe a 110-150 skill cap to compensate for stats (Hci,Dci,DI, & Sdi) added from properties on equipment. some skills should NOT get the ability to scroll up - Poisoning... Atleast out of the skills that show up on the "Animal Lore" gump,

I would just never play one in pvp, because I hate hauling a pet around anyway. + I gave my dreadmare away =D

OK you two...

I cant see why a special "gift " cant be earned for a tamer to raise up a WW or mare to GD or Dread status. I dont think a scroll bit would be good but perhaps a Special Trainer with expencive cost to cast over the pet the correct skills and statue gains needed to "reform" the pet in question.

Next crazy idea - reforging pets.
I have a walrus I have been dying to reforge with the soul of a greater dragon.

Honestly, this is something I would even pay for. If I could change the graphic of my pet to something else.

Sadly, it would probably cause some serious issues pvp wise when a goat hits you with a 50 point fireball.

Evolving pets have been asked for years. So they made that chicken stuff. Not exactly what pvm tamers were looking for to say the least but it proves that something can be done.

To be honest I don't really like so much the idea of more powerscrolls but i'm at the point where i'm really up for any usable pvm taming stuff.

Have mercy and remember that there are no other games with taming around. Not even one.

Pack of killer ostards ftw!

I like!

You've obviously never seen a pack of fully trained frenzied Ostards in the hand of a Disco Tamer...

They can easily take down a Cu Sidhe.

But if a pet needs love, it should get it. We shouldn't be jumping through hoops to boost say a reptalon up. Those poor things have long deserved some attention.

As for pets boosting to GD/dread level. Well, it doesn't matter how much effort we want to put in to that, if the devs think that's more power than a pet should have, it's not going to happen. Both the dread and GD were actually mistakes that we got to keep, which then got toned down for balance (albeit not enough IMHO). I would be both amazed and deeply disappointed if the devs gave more pets that power. And I truly don't want that.

Every pet needs there set caps for skills and stats. Still having the chance for for rare alphas with skills or stats above theese caps. But still having the pets random tamed at set skills and stats. Start of this set cap upgrade, pets will have a "tamed on date". Every birthday one of the pets tamed at skill or stat that was below cap at tame is unlocked. Able to raise to the creatures set cap.

Example say a critter has a set HP cap of 900. Rare chance for a new tame being as high as 975HP. But yours at tame was set at 862HP. Chance on the pets tameday one year anny that one aspect of the pet below cap is unlocked to raise to the creature type cap. So chance may come over the years the pets HP could raise to 900. Maybe that tame locked poison skill at 114 could unlock to be raised to 140 on one it's tamedays.

Heh, people suggested Pet Imbuing after Imbuing came out...strange indeed :p

Pets can't leech life or stamina and can't control their resistances. The effective hit points of a sampire or mystic dexxer depends on both.

There is a simpler solution: unbreak pet stats and skills [...] would take years and years and years of continual use for the pet to achieve maximum stats and skills.
What's "maximum" then, to you? Players have a hard cap of 150, a Rune Beetle can spawn with I believe 170 dex. Probably not a great idea to allow, say, a Cu Sidhe to have 170 dex.

Pet Power Scrolls wouldn't be such a bad idea... (they'd have to drop in fel only though)
Seems sort of silly if they made something like Pet Power Scrolls and they only dropped in Fel. I'd rather see:

Perpetual Tasty Treats of Power :D
But I'd much rather focus on a pet balance change like the one I suggested a year ago.

Sadly, it would probably cause some serious issues pvp wise when a goat hits you with a 50 point fireball.
"I killed a man 'cause he killed my goat, I put my hands, around his throat..."

Hey, this game could use some mastodons.

90% of max stats
-5 max elemental resists
90% of max skills

So, any GD below 900hp could gain up to 900hp. In case it already have 945hp, it cant gain hp anymore.

lol, you are kidding, first they introduce powerscrolls to trammel champs, then they introduce scrollbinders later without taking away the trammel champ scroll drops.

Trammel should not get any more scrolls, for some bizarre reason you can already get sots, and replicas in trammel.

I'd like to see trammel champs drop nothing, ever.

I'd love to see that and pet breeding... more things like the chickens.

I would love to give my pack of killer spiders a go...

I also have a pack of dogs. Powerscrolls for those would be great...

Personally I would not like to see powerscrolls for pets, I would like to see maybe a way to train their resists, I do not mean raise them to the likes of all 70's, (and I know a lot of high end pet are above 70), but raise them to the max of the particular species, just like they can gain in skills.
