Every time I equip headgear on my elf it just shows as a silly circlet, even if it's antlers or a wizard hat, is there a way to make it show up?

play KR. the headgear on my female elf shows perfectly in both the paperdoll and avatar. can be both a good thing and a bad thing... depending on your preference.

I to wish to see my hat in 2D, it's damn annoying with that circle and even worse with the ugly elf helm.

I personally like the circlet on my elves. Big ugly headgear looks stupid on my girls, both in 2d and in KR. I just hate it. If anything we need an option to show it or not as a personal preference.

i guess you are playing a guy character? the circlet does not appear on both paperdoll and character for a female, unless of course you are wearing a circlet in the first place.
but having said that, i think many including myself would like to have an option to toggle in both clients, as what Damia TMC had mentioned earlier.

Honestly I would prefer a toggle yes or no to have the circlet..... at times it would be nice to say wear a ninja hood!.... and I miss the look of a Kasa... but one thing I have loved about it...... I have a hunters.. and honestly I MUCH prefer the circlet that doesn't show at all, I absolutely HATE walking about with a half a dead deer carcass on my head.... if the thing weren't so useful I would do it...... and my tamer doesn't much care for her bone helm... so in those cases I really am thankful that I have a circlet instead.
If you are a mage, cast polymorph and pick human then all of your armor will look regular.

I like how I put on my hat of the magi and it magically changes from this big cloth hat, to this cute, girly looking tiara ;x
