"The plants had been selected long before this was ever made public."

So the plants we get to grow now are already to be found ingame, I assume.

Looking at the current flora, subtracting what we already have available in the plant system, only a few possible candidates are left.

Apart from a few grasses and flowers, these (see pic below) are the most decorative plants - IMHO.

Maybe I should have left out the weed an the spider tree, just as I left out the other plants we got from the Clean Britannia tickets, but those two would be so nice to have a few of in a garden, so... :p

Remember, this is pure speculation and may not be what we yet have to see. :)

I hope we do get the hedge.. and I hope that if we do we get either both facings or are able to rotate it to the other.

Very nice!

But...if I had my way I would take out the clump of prickly pear, the flowering cactus and the bent century, and add in lily pads. I've seen a clump of plain lily pad leaves, and then one leaf topped with either a lavender flower or a pale yellow flower. HMM will take some pics after I finish doing the dishes.

My money is on the morning glories, and the fan plant being added.
They were popular as rubble plants from Magincia, to be sure.
And, not to be too ugly and asenine, this fits with the latest scope of devaluing rares, as when they are available, the rubbles will drop in value to all but the most dedicated collectors :(

I have several of those as rubble, but they could be cool plants too.

Some of those plants would be so great to have available that I would literally restructure the top of my house just to use them. I agree that the hedge is probably the most desireable. It has a ton of utility.

Almost the same as I posted in other thread :danceb:

I would also love to see hedges become available. I think they may add a few flowering plants like Fox Gloves and Orfluer. Flax would be nice too. Here are more plants that could be good candidates.

Oops Freja, I didn't see your post. :blushing:

@ Zym Dragon, yes I thought about Flax too, but I couldn't find them in InsideUO. :eyes:

I doubt the lily pads will be there though, as you'd need at least two of the plants (leaves and flower) to have have something usable - IMHO.

hops, and the hedges, those two would be nice.... hops cause there's just so much you can do with the current vine collection, and also cause we could then push for homebrew ;)

speaking of which, grapevines, and the ability to make the supports for them, would be really, really neat!

and now, cause I can't seem to remember anything anymore, what plant were we told not so long ago "we have better plans for that"..... wasn't it the flowering cactus?

Does anyone have an idea of when they are going to start the seed drop??

Keep in mind that some of the plants in the the pic's above take up more than one "tile" of space - i.e. the really large ones. I'm pretty sure that the tall snake plant type of cactus in the bottom left is one of them. Anything that is larger than one tile can't be made into a seed since you can't grow half of the plant in one pot and the other half in another. So anything that fits this category won't, unfortunately, be on the list of new plants.

Next publish (unless something delays them) - but aren't the trees off the list because of the art being two pieces? (trunk + foliage) Or did I read that wrong? Or are those one-piece trees?

The banana trees probably won't be part of it because i'm pretty sure they're both 2 piece objects.

Perhaps the juniper tree is possible? It seems to me that Augur was planning them for the fifth generation. I know he had lilypads in it.

If, they would make the hedge attach to the outside walls of Castles & Keeps, it would improve how pretty they would be, without them being overdone.

All of the plants/trees shown so far in this thread are 1 piece, so they are all viable options for growing.

We do have other items that is more than one tile, as long they are in one piece in InsideUO, they can be used. Paintings, messageboard, century plant and yucca tree can all be in my bag without being in a deed so it should work for the banana tree too

The thing with the coconut and date palm is that they are extremely buggy and weird to place (nearly impossible to place at the edge of a house). I sure hope they won't implement them, unless fixing the placing thing.

Also it would be frustrating for rubble collectors to see their items depreciated.

actually, the morning glories kinda do the same thing, seem to end up two tiles or so from where I'm trying to put them ~~ tho that did work very nicely in one spot, they kinda drifted off the edge of the plot into the surrounding foliage:D

The part of this that makes the least sense to me is the seed distribution. Based on the figures they gave IF you get a seed as loot it is 30% likely to be a cocoa tree seed, almost 1 in 3 chance. But, out of all the plants, the cocoa tree is the only one producing seeds. I guess cocoa seeds will be the next floor covering for the bank.

Personally I'd rather see versatile plants rather than pretty ones. Plants that cover an entire square like hedges are fabulous, and I'd also really like to see grasses and grass borders. Its really nice to just get anything, as long as it's not another bonsai fiasco. Good lord how dissappointing those were. Doubly so when I saw sapphirina's re-dos.

Now next question, where to hunt for them.

4 groups of monsters with 3 monsters in each

I did guess a little, we know what is in bold

3 creatures that dwell in the Tokuno Islands
1 bug-type creature could be solens
1 creature found in Despise (among other places) Old monsters in Felucca and Despise, can be anything old monsters, Ratmen, Trolls, ettings
1 swamp creature
1 undead Gravyards and Decide, I hope liches
1 humanoid spellcaster a kind of mages
1 arachnid -> Spiders
1 karma sensitive creature in Ilshenar
1 a compact-sized creature Crystal elements?
1 creature that lurks in the Twisted Wealds

Maybe the 4 groups are Insects, Undeads, old monsters on 2 legs and elements, but then we also have the blue one in ilshenar so that do not works so it could also be 4 facets groups, Tokuno, Ilshenar, Malas and old Britainnia.

I hope we get hops and flowers, the flowers that are little specks of color. I really hope they give use bigger plots, we desperately need atleast 40x40 so we can have flower gardens in a front yard.

Yep, much as I want-want-want to get started on the new plants, I also have this sinking feeling that all my rubble collecting is about to be for naught. All of those wonderfully unusual plants that you couldn't get anywhere else -- two of which I paid quite a bit of gold for, since I failed to nab any during the event -- may now very well be common as rats.

Ah, well, I guess we'll see what happens once the next publish goes live!

Not neccessarily. It is so easy to just start tossing things when one cleans up a bit. IF the new plants are replicas of some of the Rubble plants, some of the rubble ones will vanish in simple housing clean-ups (simply overlooked when pitching). Those still bearing the "rubble" tag will be even more valueable to the true collectors. (just my two cents). It's happened with a few past items - the originals still hold value.

yeah, im kinda wishing we could know for sure what plants beforehand =) Pretty much only rubble I've kept is plants - and if I am about to be able to grow the same, I'd much rather turn my rubble plants in for points =)

Not devaluing Rubble and Spring Cleaning plants was taken into consideration. So you might want to hang on to the rare ones. But for the cocoa tree, the art that fitted best a rl cocoa tree was that of the more common rubble tree. Hope that helps!

That doesn't make any sense at all. Unless you plan on reintroducing rubble in some future form, making items that should rightfully be a logical part of the game into a "we can't release these" item is ludicrous.

I mean, not to put too fine a point on it, but since you sell soulstones, hooded shrouds, and chargers -- you know, the "limited time only pre-order items" for the last three expansions -- I'm actually a bit incensed by the above statement.

And let's follow that with, "Hey, that rubble's rare. We'll give you 800 tickets for it," just doesn't jive with the above statement either.

Can't you already get the spider tree as rubble though? Not to say that rubble is that easy to come by though. I would love to see some of those trees in black and white among other colors but because the developer made the decision that they would be ugly we don't get that option. Come on...can we at least get dark green, black, and white?

The burnt rubbles will still be fine because the new plants are only available in a normal hue, but yeah the normal hued rubble will probably drop. However, they never actually said rubble would be rare to begin with, and it could be argued they don't consider it rare based on its point value in the spring clean up.

O'hii tree likely. A simple google search shows the comparison.

As for rare rubble, the Yucca was considered fairly rare if I'm not mistaken. 40 mil per? Yet they are a turn in reward.

I was thinking the o'hii tree too. Even tho they weren't as easy to get as the some of the other trees. I only got two of them.

Oh no, I have no Rubbles as I hate town attack events. I will be very sad if we can't have a tree just because it's a rare tree from an event.
Rares is one of the reasons for hacking and duping. IMO, less rares = a more healty game.

It's fine this trees do not give seed, it's fine if the ones that is rubbles harder to get than more comment ones but not being able to get them is wrong. I do not have mills in UO to buy trees for

Someone please tell me what trees, that is rubbles because I have no idea.

Freja,

The coconut palm, date palm, o'hii tree yucca and some little saplings are rubble. All of which are pictured above I think. Also, there are 2-3 different palm trees (the smaller types) that are rubble. I don't have pics of those off hand.

Damn, I had hoped to get the date palm and o'hii tree, I got 2 yucca trees from the clean up.
