Poor player looking for advise

Hi, would like to hear your comments on my suite and template.

My current suit has the following pieces:

If anybody has time...what do you suggest to improve? Biggest issue right now is that I do not have any LRC at all, so of course this will reduce the spellcasting. Only spell I cast is the curse weapon to heal. It is my only healing option at the moment, and it works pretty well. Am however thinking of using more necro-spells, like vampiric embrace. But suppose this requires LRC, to avoid carrying three reagents. Or what do you guys do? And what do you suggest I do to improve my suit and template? Is anybody selling sampire-suit? I have limited resources, so absolute max for a suite would be 1 mill.

Hey Aherm,

I am semi new to the sampire community as well. Looking at your suit, build, and considering 1mil in the bank - if you want to be a normal sampire you should raise your necro to 99 to take advantage of vampiric embrace. It will give you a static 20% life leech at the cost of fire and poison resist. I would spend the 1m putting together a 70s suit in vamp form with 7 stamina on every piece and switch to an elf for the extra mana until you can get a solid suit and consider going back to human. That type of suit would not cost anymore than 50k or free from someone willing to help at the cost of materials. The first real piece of gear I invested in was jewelry with 15/15 25 DI. After that you should be able to do some of the easier mini spawns in the abyss for materials to sell and stockpile for future imbues. You will spend a bit of time gathering money to buy items for 45 DCI.

Another thing you may want to consider is buying a 120 macing scroll - maybe 200k (on my server Lake Superior) until you can farm or afford the 120 swords scroll. I would shoot for a build like....

This is good enough or a 700 point character and there is still flexibility in the parry and anatomy skill for either resist or SS if you really like having curse weapon. As far as reagents go, I just carry 4 pieces of LRC gear insured on me at all time. It only costs about 90 gold a piece fo basic leather gear with 18 LRC on them. I put on the LRC, cast vampiric embrace, and switch back to my main gear. If you want to use cursed weapon then I you would have to carry around the pig iron required for it, but remember you will take consistant hits to your karma using it effecting your chivalry spells.

Make sure you get a bonded swamp dragon and keep on dragon barding deeds at all time. I also keep around 10 dragon barding deeds insured at all times for when they break at inopportune times.

For weapons I used a soul seeker for a long time to kill respond type monsters for gold. You can also make an all purpose non-slayer weapon for killing with HML HSL HLL and maybe hit fireball (to avoid relic fragments). SSI is also an option if you are using a slower weapon and can find a baseline weapon with the SSI already on it (so you dont have to use relic fragments to imbue it).

I wouldn't keep all those arties on my character unless they were directly contributing to my build or offering attributes that are not imbueable and I don't see any of those attributes on your pieces.

FYI - what server are you on? I dont mind throwing together a suit for you to use while you get your feet under you.

Just to recap - make the best suit you can from scratch without using any relic fragments and save up for a better suit with that equip.

Not much to add to Khoga's advice here.
If you build new suit and you run a female char, consider using the bronzed armor of the valkyrie. Its cheap and a really good piece for a dexxer, better then rune beetle carapace. Maybe aegis of grace or imbued ancient samurai helm for head, helps alot with dci.
As Khoga said, replace that armor and make some that focuses on resists, stamina , mana and hp increase first. Lmc is nice but not really neccesary, and mr comes last, sr is a wasted mod if not gargoyle.

thank you for a very elaborate reply! Highly appreciated. Never even thought of carrying LRC items in my pack to precast the vampiric empbrace. That was indeed a good idea, as I understand the Vampire form stays until re-cast.

Based on your advise (and that I fought sooo hard when a newbie to reach GM swords my template will be):

The soulseeker is still my weapon of choice, except against undeads. I also have a radiant scimitar with HML and HSL + hit lightning that works as my general work-horse weapon. It misses the HLL, but with vampiric embrace suppose that will not be needed.

Will also check to see if I can find the suit you suggested. I am on Europa, and will try to convince a crafter to make it for me and trade him some resources for it.

If you have (or know) a tailor, you can get a piece of arcane clothing to use for VE. I crafted a necro book with +10 necro on it and ate a +10 necro scroll on my char. When I need to get into form I equip the book and the arcane item, then cast the spell. A charge is consumed whether you succeed or not, so having a better success rate is nice. I think insurance on the arcane item is 10 gold.

Also, you can be very successful using curse weapon instead of vamp form. All it takes is pig iron (and lowers karma). There are two monster types in the tomb of kings that always carry necro reg stacks as loot. You can go through a number of these quickly and get a ton of necro regs for your hunting.

I typically just carry/head to house for a vamp embrace scroll. LRC or arcanist has a cost whenever you die (looks like you're trying to save some gold at present), and the scroll isn't used until you successfully cast the spell. Just my $.02.

I can't think of any better advise that what you have already gotten on suit/temp. Depending on your shard and how active it is there, camp Navery and hope for the Tangle to drop That's the easiest way for someone starting out to go from low income to a nice one. Usually one or two greater drags tanking, so you should be safe.

Bushido 110 is better for use momentum strike.

Sampire need 70/95/70/70/70 resist,but 1-3 down resist is no problem.
When you fight with a strong monster, mana cost is necessary.
Mana cost is important than mana regeneration.

If you use brightsight lenses ,your weapon need hit lower diffence.

In my opinion, the biggest issue with your starter suit is DCI. Remember, a sampire is a tank. You need to minimize damage to you while you hang in there and dish out armor ignores, feints, and/or lightning strikes. There are 2 cheap options for an elf sampire: Fey Leggings (DCI 20, HPI 6) or Heart of the Lion (DCI 15, Luck 100). I usually use 2 artifacts on my completed sampire suits. One is the Mace and Shield Glasses. The other is the Fey Leggings. I think grabbing a cheap pair of Fey Legs is the best way to start as an elf.

I was going to suggest the ancient samurai helm as well. It has 15 DCI on it and pretty good resists. The problem is a lot of your fire resist is coming from the helm already. You'd drop to 48 fire resist with the ancient samurai helm, and that's before getting into vamp form (-25). If you were fighting something like Miasma that doesn't cast spells and didn't do fire damage this would be a viable option though.
