I started a mule there to help out the guild my husband joined. They fell apart and he stopped playing there and I have this half worked mule with one Gm (tailoring) and one 99% Gm (alch) char that I have no way to earn the stuff to work up any farther. I would love to work her up to all GMs but the guild was suppling me with stuff to work with since I can't get it on this char and I was making them all their stuff free when they got supplies. It worked great till guild went poof. I have tried to find another guild to do this with, but I just get killed trying to talk to anyone so I finally gave up.

If they allowed me to place a small house there and not lose my Tower here, then I be over there more, but since the one house one shard rule I have not step on Siege except to trade gifts.

When I played on Siege it was pre-Trammel, so it was so long ago that I chose option #1.
The reason I triued Siege dbut no longer play it is that I'm simply not a PvP player in UO. When Siege first opened, I was drawn by the idea of a shard with a bit stricter rules in terms of the economy, character ability, supposedly higher end PvM and simply other ideas at a "retry" at UO.
However, after getting enough for my first house (mainly escorting) and dealing with the attitude of some of the people there, I slowed up playing and simply returned to LS.
When they kept Siege a PvP-based shard, I knew it wasn't my cup of tea. Sure I'd love a shard with an enhanced economy, fewer characters per account, slower PvM, and other "challenges" compared to a production shard, but Siege isn't it for me. It doesn't fit.
I have to hand it to the Siege faithful, the only other place I have seen that sort of devotion is amongst the Ron Paul voters which can be either a statement of compliment or something to be frightened of, take your pick.
However, I'm not going back to Siege. There's nothing for me there.

My friend has a crafter on siege (gm tailor and smith) and I have 100k and an lrc suit, I have the powerscrolls I need for my character... but for christssakes I can not stand RoT. Every time I log in there, I realize how long it will take to finish the character I have at all 70s, so I get 1 or 2 gains and log back out. The Siege ruleset appeals to me a lot, but I can't get past the skill gain system.

Hail: Simply put, i am not willing to give up my Castle, and start from scratch, and in 6 months, "kidding", be able to place a 8x8. I see no reason to make the type of commitment required to start over, "on any shard" when you have to give up so much to do so. As a Vet, a lot of us do not have the time to play on 2 different servers.
Siege is for those who have been there from the start, or new players coming into UO. I don't remember seeing to many post about Vets making that their new home. Why?
Either lose your current house, or play there without one.

I tried SP a couple of weeks ago but a couple of ppl kept following me around peeking into my pack(ad nauseum). After a couple of hours of this I logged off and haven't returned.
Please don't ask to get more than one char slot on Siege. That is what makes Siege good. If there would be 2 or more char slots on Siege I would just leave Siege.
The things which people annoy are that also nearly every blue attacks you at every occasion if you are not guilded or if you are hunting at events and such areas. Every time I am at the event area I get attacked by blues, reds, guilds, ....... so in short: The community on Siege isn't as good as the Siege community thinks they are. I play Siege since 2003 and I log on less, because the only thing you can do on Siege is to die to a guild or walking in empty dungeons. Sure I also kill people with my assassin from time to time, that's not the problem, but maybe 1 in 10 people you will meet while PvM will not attempt to kill you on sight. Sure there are also the nice ones, but they are the minority !
The only thing I currently are doing on Siege is mining and doing bods.

There are 2 reasons I don't play Siege. Not having insurance in a game that's dependent on items it's very fun. Second is RoT, takes way too long to even get to the point where your character is playable. But, if Siege were a pre-AoS shard I'd play there even with RoT.
There is the option to bless one item of your choice. So everyone has the same problems of loosing good items upon death to another player.
But you are right, that a pre-AoS shard would be much more fun than current Siege.
i had never played siege and i play for over 8 years now, i heard the word ROT today first time and i must say, what is this for a crazy system? I think with this System only a few ppl would try Siege. I think its hard enough to get killed by everyone everyplace and yeah its funny and a good idea of old times. also no insurance is funny, but ROT hmmm. I agree with the ppl a pre AOS Shard will give much more fun instead of Siege.

I left all i had to move to SP.
I got a house and i got all my skills in RoT.
The only change i realy would like to se is that it is a bigget skill gain each day. After 20 min i gained all skills i can and when you are low skilled you cant do so much. After 70 you should be able to gain 5,0 each day.

Siege is not primarily a PvP shard. It is a shard that has less of the crap that has ruined the production shards. There is a need for crafters as all items break after x amount of uses. It's just a shame people have the wrong idea of Siege. It is what you make it. A crafter or group of role players can do just fine on Siege. One of the things I love about Siege is the different templates you see played. Many people have to have magery in their template just to get around since recall and sac. journey do not work. If you want to pick chests, you have to have remove traps in your template. The fact we don't have insurance makes people less stuck using jewels and top of the line suits to survive...la
