Hello Devs! I am just wondering if you are going to reveal the changes you made to the Bod rewards?? There are people submitting data to try to find out how you changed the reward system, but it would be nice if to know exactly what you did! Pretty pretty
It would make a great FoF Q&A!!!

Oh, it has been an adventure finding out which reward I'll get, but just like all adventures, it grows tiring and now I just want the devs to fess up!!

It would be nice but I have a feeling it was a mistake. I think someone pushed the wrong button and now everything is mixed up.
I don't mind having the rewards random but I don't want to fill bods for things that I don't want or need.

Is the Randomness only when playing in the Beta (SA) Client, or on Prodo Shards as well?

The reason I ask is I just went and turned in a couple BODs on my regular shard, and got exactly what ToR says I would get...so either I got lucky, or it is only on Retribution shard you are seeing this...I am hoping it is the latter...

Production shards. I turned in 4 lbods that should have given +30 hammers, and got 1 +30 hammer, 1 gold runic, 1 aggy runic, and 1 verite runic. Some lbods that would normally give bronze runics have given +15 hammers instead.

I got a verite the other day and a couple PS that I didn't want. It's a little annoying, even tho it's more profitable this way, because I stock my vendors a specific way - so I only have 5 filled CBDs left, and when I go to turn in 2 of them and get a powerscroll I do not need or want...ugh. I guess the upgrade shot for runic hammers makes up for it.

FYI from what I was reading I believe if you can turn in a small BOD to get a certain type of reward it will not be able to be upgraded? Not exactly sure about that. So not everything is going to get the bump, just the higher level stuff. I wish they'd make PS more useful somehow, like combine 10 120s to get a super PS (125 skill woo!) They're already going that route anyways...

One of the Devs was asked (I think at the first of the two recent HoC) if the two Knowledge Base descriptions of the BOD point systems would be updated for the new system, and they said that they would... we're still waiting....

I'd very much like to hear what the devs have to say. I've gotten way to many useless power scrolls instead of the runic kits the lbods used to consistently give.

While I am sure everyone would love to get a BRK instead of HRK as a nice little random bonus I am equally sure very few would want to get PS instead of a HRK. I for one would prefer consistent rewards. If I take the time and trouble to chase up the sbods and fill a lbod I DO NOT want some RNG come into play to give me a crap PS as a reward.

I've just come back after a long break and so I was hoping someone might be able to point me towards a program or something that can help me organise my BODs.

You know, it can read my books and individuals and then help me see what I've got, what I need etc

Should me Books do this anyways? See, that's my problem - so long out of UO that I pretty much no longer have any knoelwedge relating to anything and am totally clueless as to many aspects of the game that I once knew well.

I have found this to be somewhat accurate. However there are some inconsistencies. For example, a guildmate recieved a barbed runic kit from a 6 part normal leather large bod. The listed reward for that should have been a +10 scroll or a bless deed.

Yes, it is inaccurate. The rewards seem to be somewhat random now. When I was cleaning out my bod stash a few weeks ago, I was turning in a few of the same LBOD consecutively (If I remember correctly, 15 exc. spined 6-pieces) and
ended up with power scrolls as expected, however two of them, to my surprise, gave me barbed kits instead. Also, not sure whether this is new or not, but two of the exact same sbod are giving different monetary rewards, as well.

IF you all would read the Craftsman forum here on Stratics, you'd have known this long ago.

The Devs admitted they added something a couple publishes ago that randomly gives a bonus to those point systems linked to in the Knowledge Base (And those point systems are what is expressed in graphic form by ToR and others, and as a calculator on Stratics and other places).

The promised, but have not yet carried through with, giving an explanation of how the bonuses are calculated and applied.

It currently appears that Tailor LBODs can get a bonus of up to 100 points, and Smith BODs as much as 150-200 points. If we knew the calculation procedures for the bonuses, we could then alter tables and calculators to fit.

Filled a LBOD yesterday, my first, and received the reward listed on both stratics tailor bod calculator and the uo bod program. Thanks Patty for this post which inspired me to give bods a try!

I don't play a crafter but I'm still very curious about these changes. They impact the availability of certain items and if done properly, they are part of the fight against duping.

• Step One: Kill dupes.
• Step Two: Make the items more available so that way duping is less attractive and players aren't as inclined to be nostalgic for the days of easily duped Valorite Runic Hammers.

Hell, Step Two alone might have some impact, as it makes duping less attractive and less profitable.

My fear is that they decided to not make any changes and just let things ride. This would be the wrong approach. Why bother buying the demon slaying katana that was made with Imbuing, and will thus wear out, when you can just keep on duping and buying Valorite Runic Hammers day after day until you get what you want?
