Poisoning skill delay

is there any way to get rid of the 6 second or so delay between using the poison skill?

I don't believe there is.

I believe the poisoning skill had a useful change to it, several publishes ago. You can gain poisoning skill, by poisoning a weapon, and then you can gain poisoning skill, by actually using the poison special ability to hit critters (which would offer a poison skill check every 1.25 seconds, optimally)
