Poison Strike in PvP necro-mage combos?

How useful is poison strike in PvP combos? Does it really have anything other lighting or fireball? The cast times seem the same.

Poison strike is really good. Most people make their fire resist corpse proof but don't bother with poison. Then again, just about everyone eats apples every 15 seconds now. Regardless, poison resist is something most people lack in. Remember that poison strike also has splash damage to it, so you can disrupt people around the primary target or you need to be careful with your flagging when using it around groups/in guard zone.

It's rarely used, it takes too long to cast. U only use it if u really know the guy u are attacking is very weak in poison.
